i am not here to say who is wrong or who is right. However one thing that I can confirm is the issue is not software. I had experienced this exact issue in real world with one of my GPS tracker connected to raspberry I do make some hobby projects and have DIY skills so 2 things which can cause this quick battery drain issue is listed below.

1. BMS on motherboard has shorted resistance which is giving faulty reading to phone which in turn the software in phone is misinterpreting the actual charge level.
2. All phone batteries specially phone batteries have separate BMS circuit. a Shorted BMS can also cause this problem.

Buyer can try to use a different test battery however for that you need to open the phone and it will make things even worse.

2 questions for @raman.bhadu, that would help in clearing the mess.

i. Did the seller tell you to restore it using iTunes when you shared the battery-draining issue with him?
ii. What solution did he provide on knowing about the issue?

1- I gave the phone to service centre thinking that the seller is telling truth about battery and it could be a software glitch in good belief and my previous experiences with several other people.
2. He changed his statement several times in these days.
I too faced the same issue after replacing an I phone battery with an aftermarket one.The board got shorted and battery quick drain happened.
That's why I didn't touched the hardware of the phone

Hello all,

Thanks Raman for bringing this here, I had no time to look before but here I am.

Firstly, Raman told me that phone battery is not suitable for his needs over WA and I told him immediately that I will refund him fully. Then I turned over to forum and found phone is bricked. He hid that part from me over WA.
I gave him solution to send phone and I will pay him half the amount and I will take phone to service center. If its a SW issue Raman has to bear but if hardware I will get it repaired and ship or full refund. This was out of respect to the forum. But he was so prone to full refund.
I was/am unaware of HW issue on phone or would not have listed in 1st place.

Now I am irritated by buyer and denied any refund and I stand firm. I also now have no option to exchange it with apple or other phone as its as good as dead, (and I got new s24U already)

Few questions to community-
1. Was phone DOA?
2. Did I asked to tinker SW or HW wise?
3. If phone was not to liking of buyer why not returned?
4. if someone buys any hardware of your hand and does OC or bios and bricks, is seller at fault?

If mods decide to ban me or list to fraud member list, I respect your decision.

As I mentioned earlier, the buyer bricked a working phone, thus you don't stand liable for a full refund. If it were his personal phone, which he bought from a store, and the service centre did this, would he accept their BS reasoning and let them off the hook?

If the phone was bricked by the service centre, they are accountable for it. Personally, I wouldn't have left the service centre until they restored it to a working condition.

These service centres are independent vendors, so you could try connecting with official Apple support once. Else, it is a good case to raise a consumer complaint on the NCH portal and then otherwise with a consumer court.

Unless the seller wilfully sold you a phone with a duplicate battery, I am unsure how you can hold him accountable.

No I was in the city nearby the service centre and had some free time so I thought it will be good to have official service centre to lookup in the phone and they tried the simple restore of the phone when it gave the error 10
On reddit you said you already had the error 10 issue before visiting the service centre :-

Avoid using Market while you have a pending issue.

I took the phone to the service centre
They tried to restore it with iTunes and it got error 10 and is stuck in recovery mode.
They tried several different cables and laptops but the error was coming. They told me that it has hardware issue which was consuming the battery and now when restoring it causing the error 10. I asked aztecdragon that I will ship it back and to refund
U went to service centre which was 200km far from your place?
