Hi Guys

My friends needs an Iphone 3g in mint condition

Peice should be factory unlocked.

Budget is not above 16k

3GS below 16k and factory unlocked and mint condition !!..impossible ..even if u get one that will probable go kaput ! 3g possible but not fac unlocked 3gs !
 
@khanvis..i am curious to know that if he gets a 3gs below 16k..mint condition etc..y do u say it would go kaput..as in..is there a catch or smthing in those deals or smthing wrong with those iphones..??

just a lil curious to know..thats it..

with iphones avoid 3g and 2g cause 99% of 3g and 2g in the market have been repaired in someway or the other . .. battery life of an iphone is max 1.5yrs after that the battery backup is really less ..

with 3gs also i would never buy ones more than 1-1.5 yr old..

if ur getting a fac unlocked 3gs below 20k then def somethin is wrong there ..and chnces of it having problems are very high .u can be lucky and get one really cheap and working well but u have to be really lucky for that .

when u buy a iphone make sure u buy one that is not more than 6-8 months old . repaired iphone completely avoid cause even apple doesnt reapir the iphones they just replace it.. reparing ruins the iphone .

its not about the price when u buy a used phone ,its also about the phone working well .. dont hesitate to pay a few hundred more if the phone is in good condition cause at least it will work well for a few months till u resell it to some bakra :)

Ok you mean to say i should avoid 3g and should ask my friend to increase his budget and go for 3gs rite?

yes ..bury the 3g .. if u dont have the money buy a decent new android phone .. but dont buy 3g or 2g ever ..3gs only if 6-8 months old and a fac unlocked 3gs should cost u between 22-24 for 16gb . and max 26 for 32 gb now .

on ebay i see 32gb selling for 23k .. avoid those if they are over a yr old .

My friend does not want Android phones..He only wants Iphone..BTW he is a noob when it comes to Cellphones..

Purpose for taking Iphone (For my friend) is playing games.lol

Email and listening to Music..
 
@khanvis..That was an awesome explanation..I bought a 3g myself (4 days back) here on TE...and yea..it has got some problems..

I donno if it has been repaired or not yet..The home button is kaput and yes the battery backup sucks..

Bought it coz it was a nice deal..But donno whether to get it repaired (d local person asked for 1000 bucks and says that the home button, charging port and mic, all 3 are changed together)...But it works fine apart from that..

@rocky..yea, i agree with what khanvis said..go with 3gs..

But guys i took a 2nd hand 3g from 9pea Mobile shop which is in Ghatkopar (East) for 13.5k and its running fine.

No issues at all.Battery life is good and all application works fine..

So it all depends on your luck.

But yes after your inputs i will definately ignore 3g now
