I would suggest option two just for the battery life. On a combined phone + music player, you would have to charge much more frequently.

i had considered the same thing once. my reasoning was that instead of purchasing an iphone for 30k, i could spend 400$ on a 32gb ipod touch and spend the balance on the phone. of course that would mean getting the ipod from abroad. that leaves u with 10k for the phone. you would also get 4 times the capacity.. 8gb iphone vs 32gb ipod touch. when i thought about this, the dollar was cheaper and i was left with more money to spend on the phone. in any case, 10k is not a bad budget for a phone. ive considered your total budget as 30k.

i think ipod 16 gb is available for 17 k in india......one reason i wanted the iphone is i really want to feel the touch interface..is the ipods interface on par with that iphone...hey i even heard that ipod has a faster processor 558 mhz....i think the games will be better on the ipod....kindly tell me whether apple imagine shops home deliver there products

i think iam inclined to the 2nd option.....cos 2g is very slim....:)..hey guys suggest me a phone with in 8k which is slim and stylish..no need of a good camera or high storage space..and it should support opera mini cos a lot too much actually.....all there things iam posting through opera mini from my n73

dude iphone and ipod touch are one and the same except the latter one has no phone facilities. There would be hardly any difference in gaming. And the iphone has a 600mhz proccy too, read it somewhere cant remember though.

Buying an iPhone is India is a no brainer because of its high price. It is much better to buy an iPod Touch and invest the remaining money to buy a phone.

There is no difference in the interface between the iPhone and the iPod Touch. Also the iPod Touch 2G has a faster processor than the iPhone 3G(search in www.engadget.com for the story).

All phones are able to run Opera Mini. If you want a sleek and stylish phone, I suggest Motorola V3i, Nokia 6300, Nokia 5220XM, Nokia 5310XM.

thats why i got the ipod touch 2g even tho i dont care for apple products or the company too much :D the touch interface is really slick!

If you go for iPod Touch, you would miss out on one of the best features of the iPhone - Mobile Browsing. I know you could always use WiFi, but being connected all the time is a complete different story. Also, both iPhone and iPod Touch 2g have the same processor (628 MHz), but the one in iPhone is underclocked to 412 MHz while in iPod Touch it is not underclocked so much. So yes, iPod Touch 2g currenty is faster than iPhone.

My suggestion would be to check out some iPhones in the grey market (someone said new iPhone 3G is available for 24k in Grey) or if you dont mind, go for a cheaper, used first-gen iPhone 8 or 16 GB.

Good call.

I was in the same quandry. Went for the Ipod touch myself. Never regretted it for an instance.

thks guys will tell u when i buy for chrismas......keep ur inputs coming please.......what is possibility of a new iphone or ipod coming in the near future i dont want to regret after buying cos apple is too good at this

I was in the same dilemma because my current phone was working well for me but I took the plunge and picked up a 16GB Iphone 3G, despite some skepticism. But I'm now extremely happy because the functionality is so done so well: intuitive UI, useful downloadable Apps, Ipod, Browser, WiFi etc.. Only downside is the so-so camera (other than the price, of course). Apple should have upgraded it to at least a 5 megapixel. That would have sealed it's deal as a great unifying device.

Thks rao ....i have decided to go for itouch 16gb.....can any one tell the correct price of it in india..wher can i buy it in bangalore

Oh.:but someday it will be right...?

The 2nd generation Touch is not yet jailbroken.. Thats the thing. You can still buy 1st gen but you'll miss direct App Store support, external volume control slider, etc. But you can upgrade your 1st gen to FW 2.2 and jailbreak it too. For more information see QuickPWN

hey how abt the n85....looks good and heavy on features but already using n73.......might find it similar...?...iam really confused
