You seem to be misinformed. Even the used 2G iPhones are selling for $250-300 in the US.
 
hey guys i have almost decided to go for 16 gb itouch 2g...found out the price in grey was 15 k...tell me guys wher should i buy grey or apple reseller.....whats the price in apple store....iam buying it on 29 in bangalore
 
its damn thin ....................but attracts a lot of scratches man............with in one day i already have many scratches on the back....
 
hey the 8gb costs 14,500 in apple store and 11k or 12 k in the grey.....i bought the 16 gb model in greay for 15 k.....and charger(universal) and scratch gaurd and a silicon case cost me 1k...so total it cost me 16k
 
small review

looks 9/10.........looks sharp thin and amazingly good.........

Display 9.5/10........great clear and very shrap but might have dead pixels..i already have 1 dead pixel luckily its was on the top...

interface 10/10 this is the best part of the device.....u will be amazed.its great....iam in love with it

Audio 8.8/10....great but not the best............nice bass...external speaker volume is low and quality is ok....its good only for the apps and games......

video 9/10..........superb video quality.......i have already watched 2 hrs of video...it has a better(i mean faster) processor than iphone 3g so no lag at all.....

extendability 10/10 the app store provides a amazing extendabily to ur ipod....its no longer only a PMP.....its much more than that...some great games are available for free.....

overall 9/9 GO FOR IT if u dont own a ipod yet.....but those who already own the touch 1g can wait for the next one....SO TO CONCLUDE I AGREE WITH STEVE JOBS THAT ITS "THE FUNNEST IPOD EVER.........."..............if u cant afford a IPHONE then this a must buy
 
hey........good news....i heard ther is some progress made in jailbreaking of ipod touch 2g....... go to hack the ipod touch for details........tell me if u know something new abt this..........?
 
there were some posts about progress being made to jailbreak the iphone 3g, not sure if that also means touch 2g. but once it is jailbroken the news will be all over the internet, so you wont miss it. but i am not interested in jailbreaking for now... maybe later if i need it to enable transfers/syncing in linux :D
 
iPhone 3G has been long jailbroken, they are just about to release a software unlock right now that'll allow it to be used on any other network

Sorry but they havn't made much progress on the ipod 2g jailbreak so far
