thats a very lame price for that phone but it will still attract buyers just because of the apple n iphone tag

LOL price :P funny. gah. Way too much. vodafone has drunk too much cold water and got brain freeze. What happened was that vodafone was sitting next to kingfisher and got drunk by drinking rejected sparkling water and made a deal when they were drunk  . That's absolutely bullocks and I am dissapointed with vodafone ever since the change from orange to hutch.

did the mid-day reporter even did a cursory glance at the data/voice rates/contracts the 'subsidized' iphone are being offered with??

The whole idea is that if you are living in a country where voice costs 1 re/min and sms 50p, you cant except a subsidized handset.

Moreover, just for some American egomaniac tech-godmen's business plans and dealings, India cant put its telecom industry in reverse gear by going back to a high tariff regime.

20k is a good price if it's true. No complaints. Better than getting it for Rs 8000 and then paying about 3000 every month for 2 yrs!

India has the best and most consumer friendly telecom policies as compared to the west.

Who was expecting this at 8k anyway ? That mid-day reporter sure are showing half story . they do specify how iphone is subsidized by carriers in othe countries, but their plans are also costlier than normal rates in those countries . If they are going to sell LOCKED iphones at 20 k, then its useless .

what's the fuss abt this iphone by the way :S ..by bro has one ..just held it once and did not find anything interesting in it :P ..anyways, this is a thought from a n82 user .. good for those who r waiting for it ..:)

Agreed! 20k is not such a bad price to pay if it would be a PAYG phone (pay as you go)! However, it would be interesting to know where it would be

1. locked or not ?

2. contract bound or not ?

3. fixed plans/rentals for iphone or not ?

20k is too cheap and its probably not true. Non contract phones in the US are going to be priced @ $600 for 8GB and $700 for 16GB -

It could be that these are the prices with contract in India :)

@Eddy: I thought it would auto-merge all my posts :-?

@ yogi7272 ... ur bro just held it and may have seen the basic features .....

if u actually use the iphone's hardware usefully by cracking it and adding extra

apps u will unlock a superb dimension of a portable computer. with a 3.5" screen..... have u ever seen the Video quality it outputs ???

yea by every pro comes a con ...Nothing beats a NOKIA but Iphone is really good...

Comming from a N73m & a 6 year experienced NOKIA user !

That Mid-Day reporter must be on dope.

20k is a freaking brilliant price! (Assuming the 3G plan is going to cost me between 250-350 / months + Call charges + tax).

@deep_nx - yup dude ..ur right .. maybe i am wrong in my opinion of iphone ..:) by bro owns a 8gb one ..i have used it a bit ..yup its ui and 3.5" screen is fantastic ..videos look very good on it .

anyways, i was always looking for a complete multimedia phone ..which i finally found in black n82.

According to basic market experince i will wait 4 the newer iphone to launch @ 20k after 10 days of the launch of the 3g ill buy the regular iphone whose price may come down quite much !!!

Yea N82 is amazing its really fast @ what it does but i din take it cause i found the keys 2 small 4 me :P but the 5MP camera ROXXX ... i always like a monoblock phone cause its rough n tough with features unlike the Moto Razr & HTC touch that my dad has.

but ill still buy an iphone :D

Well Iphone Coming for 20K in India is freaking awesome. I would go for it day one of its launch. Though according to my estimations this should not be true. It should be above 25K. But if this is true then get ready for a steal people. I think it will be in quite many hands then.
