From my cousin in Dubai. He got an iPhone 4 16gb from his carrier. He didn't like it at all as he loves blackberry from which he had shifted to test it out. So he is giving it to me and getting his blackberry back.

He just used it half a day. Damages for me are 30k.

I was about to buy the 32gb on eBay for 42k today.

He called me last night and I dropped the idea of getting the 32gb.

Only an idiot would spend 12k over 16gb.

How lucky was that.
 
Very very good deal ! But it's an unlocked piece right ?

And aren't the UAE pieces crippled ? Facetime disabled ?

Maybe a firmware update fixes it ? Not sure though. Do check :)
 
Apparently not. The units that my cousin and his friends have, do not have FaceTime disabled in them.

Which is quite strange as it was announced that any iPhones bought from carriers in UAE will have FaceTime disabled.

And they are all factory unlocked.
 
facetime works in the dubai piece manufatured earlier only stops working once u update it via itunes .. so be careful .. thewer iphones do not have factime working in them out of the box.. facetime is a very big feature .. not having it will slash ur iphone value by 10k when u sell it
 
I won't sell it. I'm not even selling my 3GS.

I'll face the problem as it comes but the killer price was worth reconsidering over.

10-12k is a lot of money for the same phone with 16gb more space.

Even 8k is more for the same phone with same amount of space.

Plus the money being saved made my dad happy.
 
I hope so too. Considering its my cousin brother, I am 99.9% not worried this time. .1% is for uncertainties
