iPhone 4 - Home button not registering click

Try the calibrate method before getting it repaired. It works on my iPhone4.
Open notepad.
Hold power button till u see "slide to power off".
Leave the power button.
Hold the home button for about 5 sec or more till u see that notepad is closed and home screen is shown.
Home button is now calibrated.
 
Bumping this thread again. My wife's iPhone 4 still has the issue and home button is not always working well. Same issue is there with my iPad 2 also.
Since I am in Mumbai till weekend, planning to get them fixed.
Is 9pea the only reliable place to get it done and anyone got this done recently?
Or any other place is there.
In Indraprasth shopping center basement there are numerous shops and some do repairing too but I am hesitant to give the devices for repairing there.
Any inputs appreciated.
 
I called up some iPhone care something and they seems to be in all over Mumbai and have pickup and drop facility for the phone. They quoted me 1500 Rs for fixing the iPhone 4 home button.
Anyone knows any reliable place in Pune that does this at a more reasonable rate ?


Btw It seems the calibration thing mentioned above doesn't work on iOS 7 on iPhone 4.

Back to my main query. Since my wife's iPhone 4 will retire now and I will be mostly selling it, I want to get its home button fixed first. So any reliable place in Mumbai which will do that for me? Preferably by me sitting there for couple of hours or so.
I read about couple of services which quoted me 1500 Rs with home pickup and delivery back.
Is 1500 good price ?
I want the job to be done properly.

There is a cydia mod that lets you use the phone/ipad without the home button. Check it out.

(I had seen it on the front page of cydia)

Actually we have been using only power button to turn on the phone (so screen comes on) and then since we had the cydia tweak to dismiss applications with up swipe we never really need the home button.
But then with a non functional home button doing hard reset is not possible whenever needed and also as I plan to sell the phone, I want to get this fixed before that.
The home button has gone so bad that I have to press very hard to make it work and sometimes I fear I will break that section of phone due to too much pressure.

Well you are right but I won't risk opening iphone myself. I just don't have the skill set. I had once replaced the digitizer of my ZTE blade but that phone was almost useless so I risked that. Not this one.
