Coming in September 2010

Vodafone has made some noise about supporting it, and Airtel will almost definitely also. The pricing revealed are Rs.35,500 for the 16GB, and Rs. 41,500 for 32GB version.

Pricing seems good hope it will come unlocked this time.

Priced similarly as when 3GS was launched here. Just that this time if they actually launch it here in September then the time between international launch and India launch will be less vis a vis what happened at time of 3GS launch. But dont expect it to be unlocked, it will surely be locked.

I want it to be subsidized ,dont mind if its a contract for 2 years also.
Same here. Am using my airtel number for last 4 years so i can always go for subsidized phone :)

Grey Market prices should hover around the 30-32k mark for the 16GB in that case. I think it is a good price compared to what the 3GS came for when it was new.

But I cannot be really sure that it would be priced that low. And neway, I won't leave Android even if the iPhone comes at that low a price.......!!! :P

:D

same happened with 3gs too , and what happened , it launched jus in time of iphone4 launch , wait and watch , this will be delayed too.

^^ Especially considering iPhone 4 uses micro-sim. Although there is talk that iPhone 4 would be in India by September, I think the operators may wait till they get micro-sims instead of asking customers to cut their regular sim cards.

It WILL be unlocked in all probability since all markets outside of US where iPhone 3GS and earlier were sold as locked models, iPhone 4 is being sold unlocked.

^ Huh ? iPhones were sold locked in UK as well and even the official 3GS that were sold in India were either locked to Aitel or Vodafone .

I don't think that Micro Sim is gonna be an issue. It probably just requires a small change on the part of the SIM providers to adapt to this new tech.

Expected pricing! I just hope they stick to the launch date and the phones are unlocked.

Either ways, 16GB unlocked for 29k from the UK is wayy to tempting to wait for this!

iPhone was launched locked in the UK, but was a major disaster. It was only once the vendor exclusivity was removed that sales soared. They are therefore sticking to the unlocked version everywhere outside the US.

^ ya but don't expect it to be unlocked in india. I just hope they launch it on time and don't delay it's launch beyond september. There is no point launching it here in jan, feb next year when the new iphone will be just ard the corner.

Re-read what I wrote. iPhone 4 is being sold unlocked everywhere except US. Expect the same in India.

EBay India gray market sellers are selling the 16GB model for 69k. LOL. In any case China seems to be a doing a lot worse. The iPhone 4 gets manufactured in china and costs a mere $178 in components and its selling for 17000 Yaun ($2500) in the gray market.
