iphone 4 jailbreak for 4.2.1

need some help. i have recently purchased an iphone 4 (factory unlocked) which is on ios 4.2.1. I am unable to jailbreak it with greenpoison (tried about 6 times on windows and mac both but it failed each time). Can you please tell me what could be the issue? IS there another alternate available?

One more issue is that my gprs doestn seem to work. I took the 200/month plan on vodafone. do we need to do something to enable gprs?
 
Try using redsn0w by dev-team to jailbreak iOS 4.2.1.

Also, have you activated the iData pack on vodafone ?

redsn0w has to be done tethered first and then untethered. Is that correct?

how do u activate the idata pack. can you pls tell?

Dude, I have an iphone4 FU as well, had to try 2-3 times, and just last week bot an ipod touch 4g which was on 4.2.1, and had to try like 5-6 times and finally JBed it.

Firstly, are you able to get it into DFU mode correctly and does the 'Jailbreak' button become active?? Does the JB fail or are you just not able to get into DFU mode?

For the Vodafone, you have activate Vodafone Mobile Connect (VMC) the cheapest plan is 199 PM with 3GB data usage.

Once done, there are a couple methods you can do this

1) if your phone is Jailbroken(obvio it aint yet), get "APN Editing" from the iHackstore.com Repo (formerly elpelle6.com repo) and add APN to 'WWW'

or

2)Use the site mobileconfig

Enter in the details, leave the user/psswd blank and it will be emailed to you. Note- give the email which you access through your iphone.

Open the email from your iphone and simply open the attachment and save the settings and voila your all set.

Please explain in detail what exactly happened while trying to JB with greenpoison. Will enable us to help you better.

The phone does go in the DFU mode and the Jailbreak button is active. However after i press the jailbreak and the progress bar gets fully green, it says jailbreak failed.
 
Update -

After trying about 8 to 9 times, finally JBd the phone.

I did not do anything different. The key is timing and the motto "try and try until you...."

Nothing this device cant do or be, once its JBd.
