That's never happening here. We have been doing fine without such a system. Lots of deals happen here every day without any issue. What you need to look for is that the person you are dealing with has a good history on the forum, has dealt with other people before. New members who can't show good history/ratings often offer to ship items before the payment happens in case the buyer has a good rep. If both parties are new and have no history/ratings, most people would advise for 50-50 payment before and after the shipping is done. Or just refrain from buying and selling till you have established a good post history and have made some friends. Members who are very new and are only interested in buying/selling are a huge red flag. If you (I mean anyone reading this) are among them, just stick to OLX or FB marketplace.

Those are good points. I hope this is the case and the seller reverts but all signs point to a scam, I'm afraid. Happy to be proven wrong.
I also hope the seller return; I'd have to agree with buzz here. Seeing someone lose their money like this makes me sad, maybe we can add a big red sticky regarding the new sellers bit to provide some additional caution.

with the heatsink and the fans spinning it might be difficult. when you turn the system off from power, touch the card right behind where the core is, if it's not cold to the touch then most likely you have a good core. then you have some hope, it could be something minor. anyway see what you find

yes good point. did the box look badly beaten up?
No box just bunch of bubble rap and foam inside. Covering all with celotape . The condition was good doesn't look like beaten. But there was not fragile sticker and shipped buy india post, may be someone has dropped it while shiping as it was looking like a football due to bubble rap.

but think this way also. i don't think new or old, let's assume good for a while.
suppose you sell an electronic item say 64gb ram kit of ddr5. you test it and are happy. many days week pass you go on with your life.
but then suddenly the person you sold to says that the kit didn't work at all. it is actually a hard position to be in for everyone. it would be for you too. would you not wonder it worked in my am5 system, it was working. how can it not? would you not worry if the other person installed it wrong, i mean you don't know it could be that person's first computer they ever built. even Linus makes mistakes and he also drops very expensive graphics cards

I'm surprised the fans even spin if that's the case...
afaik a dead core would spin no fans. fan spin and if the core gets warm then prolly the processor is working and all normal voltages present, no shorts on any rails. so then the black screen, it can be something minor. but firbhi you'll need someone with more than usual amount of knowledge to figure

@munjal post system specs maybe we can help you with common troubleshoots, did you try everything on web that fixes fans spinning no output issue for 6700xts'... there seem to be solutions.

The fact that the card arrived physically in one piece is a surprise in itself considering the packaging description which was basically just foam , bubble wrap and some tape.

As @PunkX 75 said, paying advance to a member with 0 feedback(let alone who joined a day before) is a bad idea.
Even if you pay him, the least you should have done is check the gpu running via a video call.

honestly i think every pc person can relate. @mr824 was telling me that pc building can be quite nerve wrecking. and i agree, you order dozens of components, all the boxes accumulate, one sunday you put it all together.. and fan spin.. you look at the screen.. it's the most terrifying sight.. and then if the logo pops up on screen.. aah relief.. but if it stays black which it does more often then not .. then man.. hours and hours of stress. Take everything apart. What happened. Why fans spin.. why no output.. you will lose sleep, no food, no water. Just maddening troubleshooting to get to the bottom of the issue

Sorry to hear that. I was the first to DM him and requested to use the admin payment route but he refuesd. I said I'd pay 5k upfront and 10k after delivery, but he insisted on 10k upfront and 5k on delivery. That raised a red flag for me cause the total remained 15k, yet he pushed for a higher prepayment.. suspicious.

I also checked his number on truecaller and it showed as Tim Nemo. I searched his details in OSINT leaks but found nothing. However, it's still too early to label someone a fraud, so I decided to let it go. I should've called it out here.

Mods - for new members with posts below a certain threshold + zero trade feedback with Enclave Plus, maybe some code could be embedded to auto-flag their sale threads with a disclaimer warning, or something similar along those lines? That disclaimer would disappear once established requirements are met.

Just a suggestion; don't know how feasible it may be.

That would scare away 99% of buyers , even if the new user who bought enclave plus is an honest seller

Who will decide that he is an honest seller?
No one , It is not a easy issue to solve . There has to be a balance between putting a giant red warning and letting scammers get away
Also , Why is this seller who is not responding and probably scammed someone not banned yet?
Maybe there could be a warning in DM of a new seller to alert the buyer that he should cautious . But if you put a disclaimer or tag in all newbie seller threads no one will even consider buying from them

I'm not saying the disclaimer will read, "Stay away, new seller, may be fraud." lol

It'll probably be something along the lines of do's and don'ts when dealing with seller, as they are new. Like rules or good practices, such as avoiding advance payments for high ticket purchases.

No seller will do that, let alone a dishonest one. Why would a seller want to shoot themselves in the foot willingly by fudging up his own sale by telling the buyer that he should be careful of them? :hilarious:

Even if such a thing is implemented, how would you even know if the seller even cautioned the buyer?
