Hello guys getting a iphone 4 16gb locked to softbank , japan for 10k mint condition.. is it possible to unlock this phone via gevey sim ? or any site which provides permanent factory unlock solution for a cheaper price ?

I would suggest DO NOT go for this deal. Gevey SIM might work but no guarantee. The IMEI unlock would cost you like 188$ or even more (price to unlock the softbank phone and not the actual hardware). Yes it is that expensive on ebay.com
If you search on ebay.com you will see listing starting at 188$ for softbank unlock. Don't go for this deal. Better get AT&T or factory unlocked one.

Unlocking iphone from softbank would cost u approx 8k.

@raksrules & @karankapoor ..will not go with the deal .. at&t locked phone can be easily unlocked ?

Yes AT&T ones can be easily unlocked for under 5$

can you please tell me the baseband & the iOS installed in it.
As gevey sim will work but it is limited to certain basebands.

Friend sold the phone already but i heard frm him that buyer is finding difficult to get it unlocked :/ he sold it for 9k on olx..

Using Gevey SIM is not really an elegant solution and that's why having IMEI unlock is far better.

Probably the buyer of the phone is ill informed and bought the phone thinking it as a good deal. If he ever tries to unlock it, he would probably be paying more than what he bought the phone for.
