iPhone 4S Sprint Unlock issue

Received my 4s and R-Sim. I thought of giving it a shot wthout R-Sim and Bang!! it worked.. My 4s is working on all GSM operators. I dont know if its factory unlocked or not. Any way to be sure if its factory unlocked?? Can i update it to 5.1?

As for the R-Sim , its for sale -unused, anyone needs it @ lower price PM me.

Congrats. That means the phone you bought must have been bought before 11/11/11 by the first owner. All sprint iPhones bought before that date are already unlocked for international GSM carriers.

If it is working without any interposer SIM, it means it is factory unlocked and you can update your phone anytime without fear of it getting locked up.

However i would advice you not to go for the iOs update right now as there is no jailbreak out yet for it.

But the guy from whom it was purchased in US said it was just 2 weeks old bought in Feb 2012, and the phone's condition is indeed brand new.. how is it unlocked possible..

Also he dint take out the sprint cdma sim, it came with it.

I have doubts if i update it ill loose the unlock.

PS: the baseband is 1.0.13

Check the warranty status on the Apple website. If it is before Nov 11, then that guy was lying about when he bought the phone.

Omg. You were right, the site shows expiration date as 21 oct 2012.

So the owner was lying but the condition is like brand new one

My iPhone also catches Indian networks but it can't make calls or anything.it can do Ussd codes and all but if i put non sprint sim ,it fails to activate.

It was bought before 11/11/11 and I activated it last month.I confirmed through warranty check.

So what is my way out?

The reason your phone is catching signals is because it is unlocked. However you said you activated it last month. Was it activated in the US on Sprint network or over here on wi-fi.

It would be needed to be activated on the Sprint network atleast once to get it to start working over here.

And guys i found out that even gevey Ultra S works on Sprint phones. All one needs to do is bypass the activation and you are good to go. The guy who did it for me told me only this much and nothing actually about how to do it.

Can someone throw more light on it, because i can find Gevey SIMS for a lot cheaper than the 3k he took from me for unlocking my sprint iPhone.

Where are you located.

I know a guy who can get it unlocked for you for 3k but he is from Delhi, or you can buy the R-Sim from #killerz and use that to unlock your phone.
 
i was talking about the R-Sim , the OP is selling. And no it does not make the phone factory unlocked. You won't be able to upgrade, unless the hackers find a way to preserve the baseband while upgrading. By the way, if you are not looking to buy all the apps i would suggest you to stick with the current iOs version instead of the latest one because there is no jailbreak out for the latest iOs. trust me if you own an iOs device you will miss out on a lot of things if you don't jailbreak and i am not talking about the free apps only.
 
I have hard time unlocking this verizon iphone 4s. 5.0.1 Jailbroken Baseband 1.0.13

I have bought the R-sim from ebay which is R-SIM II Ultra S V3.23

And I am following this guide. http://pastebin.com/cbm4hzS6

In guide is says enter under sim application 20404 but i am not able to send it.

Anyone can help me out on it ? and what is the Verizon's code ?

^^ agreed. but there are hardly any guides for verizon. most of them are for sprint. and ebay seller sent me the pastebin link.

Sorry mate. I only have a guy who unlocks these phones for me for 1500 bucks. That includes the cost of the Gevey SIM. It is not R-SIM, but some local Gevey SIM made in China but it works flawlessly. He refuses to tell me what all hacks he applies because he does jailbreak the phone and uses SAM, because that is his livelihood.
 
*phew* unlocked it finally. key is to get correct MNC code for verizon. 0829404000

SAM is not required. Just go to R-SIM menu and enter the above code and reboot your 4S.

After rebooting in next 2-3 mins you will get the signals.

updating my post, the 20404 code + SAM is required on R-Sim v3.0, i guess your version 3.23 did the job with easy procedure like in sprint.

Sorry buddy, no soln. at the moment for Sprint on 5.1

R-SIM III unlocks 5.1 but oly if it's an AT&T phone
