Simple way to find 2g or 3g is by checking the backside color 2G would be silver and 3G would be black for 8 and 16GB and white for 16GB,the box which u get the fone would also say if its 3g else u wont see anything on the side

What to check....?--->Check whether its through India or outside, if its India whether Vodafone or Airtel so that u could update firmware without any second thought.then the basic check u do on any fone calls,SMS,camera,wifi GPRS etc...

Refurbished Thing? They fone goes for service through Apple and they provide a new fone or refurbished to the customer.The fone they get from the customer would be serviced and sold again with the tag refurbished.You may or may not get company warranty provided how the company markets it.The way we get replacement HDD from Segate or Samsung if I m not wrong

I came to know few people who sale refurbished iphones in India. They are giving 6 months warranty too.

I will make sure to check 3G & 2G things which you said.

can a person purchase refurbished iphones in USA & come to India without any contract ?
 
I dont think getting a refurbished fone without any contract from US is possible but I may be incorrect also..Becoz I tried from my end when I was trying to buy thats when I found its difficult and expensive too
 
Well its 3G 8GB tried a lot in TE unfortunately at that time no fones whr in sale ...Got it for 23K used the ebay coupon and got a discount of 22K pretty good piece not even the backside plastic cover was taken..Tried to check on orkut the price he quoted was wayyyyyyyyyyyyyyy high 30K for 16GB and 25K for 8GB

Ive tried Videora and Xilisoft, both with unsatisfying results :(

got it off a friend in the US who got it off ebay. Unlocked and jailbroken. Works like a charm can be updated to new 3 firmware.

media coder for batch processing and Handbrake for more control both are great

Try any video converter or total video converter.Also give handbrake a try
