^ infact I was using a 22 inch monitor with my laptop - intel 945 onboard. It still rocked. I recently built a new pc with a good display card.

Big monitor >>>>> uber elite display card.

You can always watch HD movies, play mid range old games on high resolution with a big monitor.
@sudarshan
14" crt - dude....thats just pathetic. The min is 19" lcd now. Sorry to say it rudely but you are either just completely retarded or have never used a big widescreen LCD monitor. I feel sorry for you, heh.

LOL @ Amol.

ANd now 12gb makes sense when Kippu says so.. :) for hims its worth it.. Kippu just an advice.. make sure ur Mobo supports 12gb.. coz normally its just 8gb:P... if ur on Core i7 then it should have 12gb support :bleh:

I think you are the only person who would think that way :P. Get atleast a 22". They cheaper nowadays if you don't know yet.

Games do run better on xp but if youve got the hardware, you can use vista to make use of the few dx10 titles....And whats the point of maxing out crysis on a 15 incher? You cant enjoy its magnificence with a small monitor..a 22" is a must.

i knowed that this will come.
i know 22" monitor are now from 10k range.actually i am planning to get a minimum 22" LCD monitor, but i have priority for other upgrades like RAM, H.D.D, Heatsink.

i know how it feels gaming on 24" monitor.even our college has all LCD's.
but i don't regret using 15"CRT. i only reget when i can can't benchmark, as monitor does not support the resolution.

hmm....now i am thinking to show this thread to my dad . more comment are welcomed:p

i have to get to 12 gb ram .... my computers gets to a crawl when rendering

make that 16gb here. but 4gb sticks are rare to get & very expensive.
why dont you try rendering the same file on multiple pcs using backburner. it will make use of all cores & all the ram on both systesm. i do the same thing & using 16-20cores & 32-40gigs of ram. doesnt give any problem.

The rest of your setup seems sufficient for the time being. Honestly....what's the point of spending 2-3k on a heatsink, who's core is going to be outdated in less than 6 months - i7 core arrival i.e. ?

Get a big monitor pronto. Just my 2 cents.

yea ur system looks ok for the moment.. or alteast better than what i had when i bought my 22".. u dont need to worry about any RAM or so for now.. u can go for a Screen.. unless ur working needs high power then u can consider more RAMs, etc and less priority to the screen... Ow wat the hell.. no matter what GET A BIG SCREEN MAN! i cant even work on a ****ing word on 15". And am not sayin coz i have a 22", but i used to cry about this even when there was no 22" (or even 19" for that matter) in the market!.. for my project work i got my 17" Flat Screen CRT which made life so much better as it gave some bigger work space...(at that time).
