i am in the market to buy a new rendering machine, my question is if the amd 6 core is my best option, compare to some of the i7 with a high price tag and not to forget the expensive mobo you need for i7.
CPU/Mobo is 1055t the best option for my new rendering machine?

In a word, yes.
More value for money compared to the i7 platform, cheaper motherboards (with the recent SATA 3 and USB 3 support), 6 cores. As and when the applications start utilising all the 6 cores onboard the processor, you should see a considerable advantage over the Nehalem architecture.
