Graphic Cards Is 58deg normal for a 6600gt?

no use x86....

The moment you minimise a game, the temps drop... That is a wrong way to check temps.

What you have to do is to use Rivatuner Hardware monitoring. then close the game and see the graph.

If your card peaks at 63 or so, it is AWESOME!!! But I highly doubt it. It is simply impossible.

that wat i wanted to say ..... but if u want to keep a eye on the temps while u play then use the rivetuner stats server it can display anything from coreclock, memory clock ,core temp, ambient temp its really nice software

ok i'll check as u guys sad and post it within 4 days since i have no access to tht system rt now due to no mothebroard .
i'll let yall know whats exactly goin on.

:) lol my temps of 6600GT topped for 95Degrees.. when load. then i replaced thermal compund. not goes uptil 85deg when overclocked to 590core and 1200memory :) and well. last month the fan of my 6600GT got burnt motor so at that time temps went upto 140Deg and nothing happened. so if my 6600GT survived at 140Degrees then 80's and 90's temp are nothing. i then replaced my fan and now the idle temp is around 55deg taking into consideration room temp around 28Deg. so maybe i have better brand of my 6600GT of MSI so MSI rocks surving for more then boiling point. :) i love MSI!!

^^ actuallly there is core slow down in nvidia card when temp exceeds the limit ..... and ur card survived that doesn't mean that all cards will survive :) ..... and y were u using the card without the Fan ..... if u don't like the card sen it to me :p

"and y were u using the card without the card " <---- Rahul wat do u mean by this :S i want a 6800GT :( but im happy with OC performance of 6600GT! ahh can anybody do this to their 6600GT? 590core 1200mem :D and well it doesnt slow down core. its built on strong die so it withstands temp. maybe upto 150degs. Fx cards could not withstand more then 100Deg. u will find a p3 will die faster when heated then a P4. P4 may die at 120 or so. and my P3 died at 70 years back :( so latest things r made on thinner DIE which gives a CHIP more threshold to survive

^^ read the message carefully  ...... i did 605/1210 on my XFX 6600GT :p with my modded kooling if u want to see the pic chk out my Rig in rig gallery .....

ya u are right that it depends upon the chips that wat temps they can survive ..... and i don't think its 140*c for 6600GT ..... and core slow down occures at 120*c for 6600GT AFAIR ......

and c'on post some 3dmarks05 scores for comparison .....

yeah. i score 3589 3dmark 05 OC. and well. dude. see my rig pic also in my profile :D ill post some more pics. TE cannot accept larger sizes so gotta convert them :( anyways. check back my rig later. ive modded my rig myself :)

that is a really low score if u are running ur GPU @ 590 ..... i managed 4000 with very old drivers AFAIR it was 76.xx ..... so with new ones i can get around 4300 .... but that rig is at home so i can't test it now ....

EDIT: oops sorry is see u are having a intel maybe then the score are ok .... but i think u can manage around 3800-4000 with that intel ..... anyways i had a 2800+ AMD processor @ 2.4Ghz

oh but im satisfied with the score ;) i can play games without a stutter atleast ;) i have P4-2.80Ghz HT. i will upgrade to AMD X2 dualcore and 2gig ram. wats ur pc config btw. u will see my scores around 4500 :D have u tried volt mod for ur 6600GT?

My 6600 GT temp gos up to 79 on load (checked with Nvtemplogger) Every game runs fine except NFS MW where it reaches 80 and everything gets locked and I hav to reboot. How come ur card is still surviving on 85 , ur system doesnt get locked? then there must be some prob with my system. Can anyone explain.

i think there is someother problem in ur system it sud not lock ..... at least in my case it was working fine till 89*c (thats the maximum i have seen on my 6600GT )
