Hi guys,

I Own an ACER 5745G lappy ,will replacing the existing HDD (a 7200rpm 500gb sata ) with an INTEL X25-V 40gb one be sensible ?

I mean feasable in terms of performance & General purpose use

Will 40gb be enough for Windows 7 x64, Office, Live Mail etc.

I apart from GAMING use it for Solidworks/Pro-E/Catia Cad Apps.

The current installation eats up about 80-90gb?

Or should I wait for a Higher Capacity Drive to Be Cheap

rule of thumb is to spare 20% spare for high perfrmnc... btw 40 gB will not provide u 40 gB ... formatted capacity will b lesser like 32gB... so its optimum to invest one for 80gB min....

Forget the above options go for OCZ Vertex 2 60 GB should cost you around 6500 from Prime, take my word for it even 60 GB will fall short after some time. You have to sacrifice space for speed
