0-20k Is buying a refurbished thinkpad T495 a good idea?

I found refurbished thinkpad T495 on saude wala .in for 18500.
with Amd ryzen 5 pro 3500u
16 Gb ddr 4 and 14" hd display .How would it be for light gaming and programming as a student?

sorry not much idea about delhi - I wouldnt rely too much on reputation - Different sellers have different inventory. I go with whoever has the best stuff at the best prices. Visit them in person, check out the merchandise, verify the spec - pay a bit extra for upgrades if they offer (RAM, SSD etc)
Most sellers play around with components - eg swapping out Full HD displays into low spec models and reverse to make them sellable - you won't spot unless you check in person - most online sites will not even give display spec and you will get some shitty TN panel.

I am a newbie and noob at tech , so I don't want to take the risk of buying from a no name seller as I fear i will get scammed. I will pay little extra for peace of mind.

then get from someone like aasim.
the only other seller i have bought from online is oldlappy - still wouldn't vouch for them as it was a long time ago and dont know them otherwise.
Even if you buy from a reputed seller - given you are new to this, you will need servicing at some point, and you can't do that online - so you need to take a leap of faith with someone local.

even I have been screwed buying online from a reputed seller - I bought an elitebook 840 g1 for 15k online, thought it was a deal, found out it had no webcam, Bluetooth didnt work, and monitor was a crappy TN panel which the 840 wasnt even supposed to have in stock form. I contacted the seller, and fair enough, their listing never mentioned Webcam or BT, and specified only 1366x768, and it did match the description.
If you are new to this and do not know how to inspect a used laptop, I would suggest you find someone who does or even better - you learn.
