@Being.smart : I really do not understand the logic of 30-40 rupees per day.

Here we don't have any such problem, there's not much black-marketing. Even i had got APL card, allowing me to get rice @ 12, pulse @ 14, however quality is little bit sub-standard , and all our supply comes from farmhouse so no worry
Bro govt. has also taken care of that, they do provide kerosene oil @ Rs.14-15 per litre, i don't remember the exact details. Also, for a poor, 1 full subsidized cylinder costing 450-500, will be more than enough for 3-4 months for cooking food for 3-4 people.
It's us only , who needs 3-4 cylinder, to make 3 time breakfast, lunch and dinner including 5-6 different items, 5-6 coffee a day and so on.
The saddest part of the story is that, all this things are being subsidized by central government, but some state government which are being held by opposition take all this basic things lite, and neither promote it nor support it, they think it will give central govt. more vote. While, some state govt. like that of Chhattisgarh, provide addition 1-2 rupee subsidy from their pocket and say "HURRY we are providing for cheap vote us".
I think the upcoming Food Bill will surely help many poor to get proper 2 time food![]()
Good move. Why should they subsidise privileged families?first of all, it is the central government, which has lifted off the subsidy which made the cylinders to cost 1k upwards.
It will last more than a month. We are a family of 4 and the cylinder lasts ~2 months or even more, and we cook three times a day.if there are 3-4 people in a household, the cylinder wont last for more than a onth, so he has to pay for atleast 3 cylinder regardless.
The ration covers 1 ltr of oil for basic use. Not sure about the price.and even going forward what about cooking oil? what are their rates?
No, just rice (30 kg), wheat (3 kg), sugar (1 kg), salt (1 kg) and cooking oil (1 ltr) -- monthly limits; that's it. Not even pulses. Rice costs just Rs 1 per kg for BPL families. Not sure about the other rates.what about green vegetables? are they provided in ration? what about milk? onion, spices? or is just eating everything boiled or the "kauwa biryani" ? for rs 5?

define "privileged"Good move. Why should they subsidise privileged families?
depends . if all the members of the family depend on home cooked food, the duration for the cylinder will be shorter, on the other hand , those used to not carrying tiffins, eat at the outside eateries, the duration will be greaterIt will last more than a month. We are a family of 4 and the cylinder lasts ~2 months or even more, and we cook three times a day.
how long does that take to be consumed? The ration covers 1 ltr of oil for basic use. Not sure about the price.
that is for bpl families, which according to them should be earning less than 32/35 Rs per day.No, just rice (30 kg), wheat (3 kg), sugar (1 kg), salt (1 kg) and cooking oil (1 ltr) -- monthly limits; that's it. Not even pulses. Rice costs just Rs 1 per kg for BPL families. Not sure about the other rates.
