OC & Modding Is it possible to repair or replace the power button of a PC cabinet?

Another interesting thing I came across somewhere online was that over a period of time, tempered glass will crack no matter what. So, I am going with the takeaway here that cabinets with tempered glass will last for 5-6 years before the inevitable happens.
The only logical explanation based on physics for justifying above scenario I can come up with is temperature difference/changes over a long range over a long duration. So for example, a glass panel cabinet with a gpu & processor inside generating temps of 60-70C air over the inside edge of glass panel while the room has air conditioner with avg temps of air over the outside edge of glass panel at 20-25C & this happen often for long durations over a course of years.

Just a suggestion - did try contacting some etailers if they can help with a side panel replacement Or any compatible side panel that can fit ?

The other option I can suggest is get 4x cheap magnets and glue them on the corners . Then get a perforated sheet panel and use the magnets to hold it . If cutting/bending metal sheet is outside of your scope , you can get these engineered wood panels and glue any metal piece on corners to align with magnets . If you get creative you can think of new 120/140mm fan mount for your gpu :)

Same happened to my Ant esports cabinet side panel. I removed the side panel and placed it on the floor while it shattered and again for Cougar cabinet side panel while removing it from its ledge it shattered in my hands but fortunately it didn't cut me somehow. Both times both brands replaced the side panels for 1.5k + 500 for shipping each time.
Now I have a mesh panel with my Galaxy Rev.3 but I searched for glass side panel for it could not find.
Now am waiting for Deepcool CH260 matx to be released on 15th April which has a glass side panel but it's small right. But will be careful this time around. The distributor Acro is saying it will be below 5k only. So told them to ping me when it lands in India.

My good friend microsoft copilot told me this -
Tempered glass panels on PC cabinets can shatter spontaneously due to several reasons:

  1. Nickel Sulfide Inclusions: Tiny impurities like nickel sulfide can form during the manufacturing process. Over time, these inclusions expand and create internal stress, eventually causing the glass to break.
  2. Edge Damage: Even minor damage to the edges of the glass during installation or handling can weaken its structure. Over time, this damage can lead to spontaneous breakage.
  3. Thermal Stress: Tempered glass expands and contracts with temperature changes. If the frame doesn't allow enough space for this movement, the stress can cause the glass to shatter.
  4. Defective Glass: Pre-existing cracks or scratches in the glass can reduce its strength, making it more prone to breaking.
  5. Impact on Edges: While tempered glass is strong on its flat surfaces, its edges are more vulnerable. A small impact on the edge can lead to a sudden shattering.
Irrespective of the reasons, the larger point here is that as I browse and see online, it seems, I am not the only one that has faced this issue and yet I have never heard a single "tech guru" talk about this drawback in glass cabinets. Anyway, capitalism rocks! So, until the next mass of glass lands on my table. Cya around folks!
You could probably try swapping the other side panel over to this side with the cardboard, then placing the cabinet horizontally on its right side to make it prettier if you have the space.
Thanks for the idea but it is not happening due to multiple reasons. Anyway, I had called a few local glass shops to see if they could make a replacement panel. Can't do that it seems so I have also given up on the idea. too much of a hassle for me right now so have made peace with this cardboard. Will look for a new cabinet in few months time.
Thank you everyone for all your thoughts and ideas. I am sure this thread and its suggestions by you guys will be beneficial to some more hardworking folks than me in the near future. :D

Do you want a matx cabinet? I might be selling my 2023 bought Galax Rev3 cabinet this month or next month depending upon the arrival of Deepcool CH260. My cabinet is pure white with mesh side panels both sides. All sides there are just filters. All four sides and inside the mesh sides on both sides. Can handle any matx mobo and ATX psu. Will handle upto 360mm AIO on the top. Just check the specs from here: https://www.galax.com/en/revolution-03.html
Bought it for 6.5k from Shwetha Computers, CTC, Secunderabad in February 2023. Will give it for 5k but you arrange the pickup or we shall share the pickup cost. Okay. If you are interested then PM me.

Thanks for the offer but I have an AM4 ATX build. I intend to continue with that for the next couple of years at least while just changing the processor. How is your new build doing? the AM5 build working all good?

And the sexiest gaming PC build award goes to... :hilarious::hilarious:
I see you went with the classic flap design with white&brown aesthetics and masterfully placed cello tapes.

Yes all good.
My CPU, mobo and RAM has arrived. While my wireless KB & Mouse combo will arrive tomorrow.
SSD has yet to be pickedup from the TE member I bought from. It might reach me by 10th I think.
My 3d printed shroud for fitting 120mm fan on top of wraith stealth cooler has been picked up today from Hyderabad might reach me by 8th.

Then I still have the cabinet & PSU to change and buy new ones. These might be changed this month end or next month 1st week. Also 3 120mm ARGB kit for the case.
Still looking for RTX4060Ti or RTX3080Ti used GPUs from either here or from Facebook groups.
I am not going to change the monitor now might change next year or if any good monitor drops it's price to 22k or so.

Now am I forgetting any more parts?
Remind my if I am forgetting?

Update: I forgot the webcam. I already PMed a TE member regarding a 2k webcam but he isn't responding since 3 days. He posted his sale thread and went offline since then. I even messaged him via his WhatsApp number but no response yet.

Update: For those who might be planning to buy PC cases from Antec in the future, here is what you need to know. The customer care of Antec replied. PC cabinets have 2 yrs warranty on them which does not include broken tempered glass as it is counted as physical damage. (I wonder what would mostly go wrong in an empty pc case, if not some physical damage). In any case, they do however provide replacement panels at an additional cost.
