Hi Guys

Just wanted to ask how many of u use Registry Cleaners to clean ur Registry

Cleaning the Registry removes redundant entries and speeds up ur system.

But i feel it risky to fiddle with the registry incase the registry cleaner cleans
something which it is not supposed to then u r stuck , i know we can restore
the registry from the backup but still i feel its risk.

Please share your experiences of safe registry cleaning without any side effects.

What softwares do u use to keep ur registry fit.

NO

Every single of them has bad side effects.

e.g. Most populer one is System Mechanics (or something like that.... forgot)

It removed the CD-Writer information (at that time I have SONY 52x Writer) from Easy CD Creator as well as WinImage Pro :@

Though, it was long time ago, but can't trust then any more.

Use windows (M$) registry cleaner it's safe and secure, at least I use it for 98SE without any problem. If you use any other software than be sure you didn't permit it to delete system files.

Go to download.com and see editors and users review with free Registry cleaner program and download suitable to you.

IMHO Automatic Reg Cleaners are Reg Destroyers. ;)

I have used Reg Crawler for many years. What this does is it gives a list of all entries for any software in the registry and I manually select and delete entries. A screenie... as an example I have selected a few entries which have shown up in dark blue....

But Reg Crawler wont automatically scan for redundant entries

no it will not.... but it will also not on its own delete entries which are required and are at times deleted by Registry Cleaners ... :)

just now checked jv16 power tools and its very feature rich.

Do u delete all the scanned entried i.e. Low , Medium , High Severity in jv reg cleaner.

I had close to 633 Enteries which were supposed to be removed.

I think jv reg cleaner does a pretty good job... Registry cleaners are a very good idea I think, but most of them out there are released without good testing and thats the reason we have those side effects!!

i usually delete all the scanned enteries till date no probs :hap2:

^^Heh same here... but I do go through them once... I use registry mechanic by the way and it gives a full summary of the invalid entries before u r about to delete them.

jv16's RegSupreme Pro is the best registry cleaner there can be if all you want is a core stand-alone registry cleaner.
Don't use the aggressive mode though, it could potentially cause problems.

If you want a file cleaner as well, then get their Power Tools suite.

I am not gonna use any sort of registry cleaner or ay software that fiddles with

the system registry.

I just have restored my system from a horrible state.

Everything just got screwed up.

All thouse who are using and comfortable use it but i will never ever use any

registry cleaning software.

I have made a temp XP install on my D Drive and will be formating my C Drive

after a backup.

Its gonna be bye bye to registry tweaking.

Dude u might be laughing at me but u dont know how much pain its to restore

a system back from such a complicated state.

I have configure a lot of tools and even the softwares which are required for

my project work.

been using system mechanic as well as tune up utilities..both .and no problem yet..infact it speeds up my comp.. i dont think it messes up with the registry..
