CPU/Mobo Is it time to go for Sandy Bridge?

Proccy-Core i5 750
Mobo- Gigabyte P55 USB3
Case- CM690
Cooling-corsair H70
Ram-Gskill Rijpaws 1333 ddr3
Gfx card- MSI 570 GTX
PSU-CM 800 Gold
Monitor-Samsung P2350(1080p)

Should I need Upgrade to sandy bridge?
suggestions welcome....:)
 
by all means go for Sandy bridge, it totally outperforms the previous gen processors. If your gonna overclock go for the P67 chipset + 2500k processor, else get the non 'K' processor.
 
dont upgrade , your present config is good enough , if you really wanna upgrade , wait and get the new ivy bridge and bulldozer processors later this june
 
ok...actually confused....

few queries

1. cant oc i5 750 beyond 3.8ghz even with H70(hitting 75@100%load after 5-10 min) ..is it under clocking my gpu?

2. cant sli on present mobo...(dont need on present performance.. :)

rest all ok...

+1 can CM 800 gold support 570 sli?
 
rather than SB why not get a i7 860 ? It should be > 2500k , 570 sli will be sweet if its a gold rated 800 I think it will be ok.

What resolution are you gaming at?

If you are at 1920x1200 or below, I don't see the need to upgrade this generation. Wait for Bulldozer/Next intel line and the ATi/NVidia 7xxx/6xx series.
 
570 sli will be sweet if its a gold rated 800 I think it will be ok.

Dont sli dude... wait, be patient, ur config is good enough to handle anything and everything at the moment... Wait till the next gen of cpu/gpu..

Hell im still on a c2d and am not considering a upgrade, i can practically play everything at 1680, so so....

You have a really great setup... why do you wanna upgrade now?... GTX570 pretty much handles every game at max resolution with all settings cranked up so you really dont need an SLI setup... and an i5 750 @3.8GHz would easily outperform i5 2500k @ stock so i dont see any point in upgrading... :)
 
Unless you use your rig for professional purpose and the projects pay back in monetary terms and/or you want the latest and the best and afford it too-
i5 750 is fine till Bulldozer and Ivy Brige, etc are available easily. You can decide then.

If you still want to go P67 B3, check ASUSTeK Computer Inc. - Motherboards - ASUS P8P67 PRO
Feature laden yet totally VFM IMHO. :)
 
At stock or similar speeds you won't notice any/noticeable difference in performance btw a Core i5 and a Core i5 SB. You may notice noticeable difference in CPU limited situations in some games with a stock 750(not 3.8ghz) compared to a 4.5GHz+ Core i5 SB.

SB isn't worth upgrading at least for 860/920 users and probably not for 750 or above users either. You should upgrade straight to the next big jump, Ivy League when it releases in Fall 11 or first half 2012. That will be like twice as fast as your current CPU I guess, and that means nearly twice as fast as a SB too :P

Really? I wonder what makes u say that.

IF All the OP wants to do is Game, and Sandy bridge and is 750/760 Gaming performance is the SAME.

but if he is into other stuff, only then are you correct sir.

1. After ocing i5 750 to 3.8ghz ..with corsair H70 i'm getting avg 48-52c(core temp) on idle and during benchmarking with prime 95

i.e 100% load i'm getting 75-80c (5-10 mins burnout) ..is it safe/stable..or i need any thermal solution like artic silver etc..

i'm getting dram frequency of 700 mhz on my Gskill 1333 DDR3 memory

why is it underclocked?
 
Change to a good thermal compound will drop temps 3-5* not a bad thing at all. What thermal compound are you using now ?

no you are not using stock , the base of the H70 comes with thermal compound pre installed , you can put more thermal compund though :)
