:0...i believe am not using two anti virus at a time.....only avira....plus windows defender.....can anyone advice on free software(if any) that might be required for security...

p.s : i dont have access to pirated stuff as well

Remove that POS Windows Defender and install Spyware Terminator instead.

Avira AntiVir PE is pretty good, but if you want only one application to protect against all kinds of malware then AOL ActiveVirusShield is the best choice.

But AntiVir PE+Spyware Terminator should do pretty well.
