My APC BR100-IN is not providing any back up---When the power goes off it crashes my PC after 30 secs and my warranty expired last month :(.I took the battery(2 of them) and tested it with a local amaron dealer he says the voltage in the multi meter reading says the battery is OK and he did not have a Load tester (will load test the battery tomorrow).

In the worst case scenario what should i buy as a replacement pls advice my options are:

1)Microtek 800 VA (Dont know if it will work with my VX 450)

2)APC 800VA

(will provide a little bit less bck up time but thats ok--the thing that worries me is it too will go kaput like the 1 kva model which was replaced like 11 times in 2 years :S)

3) APC UPS 750VA- SUA750i

EXpensive but if you guys say it will be durable and not go kaput like my current apc model i will go for this one :ashamed:

What should i do

^ I have a spare UPS with me - model no. BR800IN which is six months old. Pls let me know if you r interested
Bought SUA1000i last month for the sake of sine wave output.

Where r u from?

BTW the smart series UPS are very good & indeed very much compatible with PSU's with Active PFC circuit. Can't talk about reliability as I am just using it for a month as of now.

^^Thanks for the offer man i will keep your offer in mind :).I am from chennai
APC cannot handle voltage fluctuations in my house so bought a 2 kiva digital stabilizer for the UPS still no go .

So guys any more advice ? one more thing can apc SUA750i HANDLE MY pc well

Not much load on my APC:S:

From the above screenshot it is clear that your system is utilising approx 138 W during normal/idle mode & SUA750I provides 500W of peak power, it can easily handle your system with full load.
Also, APC smart UPS are more efficient than Back UPS.

But if your old UPS was working fine with VX450, it is better if you can just get it checked by APC engineer. If it has some minor problem, you will be saved from spending 7.5k.

^^Ok so i can go ahead with SUA750I then---The thing is My BR1000-IN's warranty expired last month and i have heard(not sure) that APC ASS charges are heavy on the pocket thats why decided to go for a new UPS.

One more thing i am using my APC like this

Power socket-->Stabilizer-->APC--->PC (the stabilizer is V guard digi 2 Kva)

Can i use the same method if i decide to get the SUA750I??

Thanks for the reply :).
