PC Peripherals Is my PSU Dying? Check Pic & Suggest?

Hello Friends,

Today while cleaning my system PSU (SeaSonic S12i - 400 W bought in June 2011), yes as 5 Years Warranty already over I open it as it gathered lots of dust.

And shock to ... please check below pics;-



My Existing System is (yes at present powered by same above PSU, while I'm posting here):
i5- 2400
DH67BL Motherboard
8 GB Gskill DDR3
500 GB HDD
1.5TB External HDD (using very rarely)
Circle USB Keyboard, Logitech Bluetooth Mouse, LG DVD Writer, Dell 21.5" 2216H Monitor
System Everyday using for at least 14 hrs. To 16 hrs. (no, not using for heavy downloading, but surfing, little photo shop, 2-3 hrs. YouTube Video Watching etc.)

Isn't that glue used to keep components from vibrating too much?

Not sure, maybe others can pitch in...

none of the things you circled have any liquid in them to leak so much. so thats probably glue or heat removal type compound.

Its looks fine. Its just the glue stick which is over used and oozed out. And bit of brown and black is natural due to 7 yrs of use.

Its fine - check if any of the capacitors have the metal caps opened or leaking on top....

The glue is ok, its for stability.

As you can see in the bottom right, the caps are nearly blown, we opened this PSU (Delta, ACER OEM) because the fan was not spinning - WD40 did the trick. Even with these blown caps, the PSU still works, but we have given to repairs.

But NONE of Caps in my CPU blown not any sign ....

As you can see in the bottom right, the caps are nearly blown, we opened this PSU (Delta, ACER OEM) because the fan was not spinning - WD40 did the trick. Even with these blown caps, the PSU still works, but we have given to repairs.

Is it possible due to PSU Health Deteriorating (glue kind leakages but no puffiness with capacitors TOP I noticed)

May be your 500GB HDD is deteriorating in health. I would be concerned for that.

Errr... I didn't think about that ... how to find out same (any test/software etc).

Hi as per suggestion done and found all is Ok

Since last 2 months I turn from Win7 to Win10 and found that system slowed down considerably.

Check the win 10 updates, those may downloading or installing, sometimes they causes significant slowness. Just keep the system running overnight to complete all the updates abd whenever there is a chance make it paused to see if it improves.

However, if your PSU has already served 5 - 7 years, just go for a new one.

Friends, please found below, any particular reason for sudden increase in Temperature

Update the utilities tool and since you bought new mobo, update the BIOS for that mobo. However, your screen does not show high temps, how did you derive "sudden increase in temp"?

No my friend...

It's old Motherboard only bought in 2011... about temperature... when I found system slowed down I download utility from Intel Website to check... No Update for existing MOBO for Windows10 system

Since long time I'm applying Thermal paste, once in year when open system for cleaning of dust and to check if something abnormal with Board etc.

Above High Temperature reading is found before and after LATEST Thermal Pasting also.
