Just want to know that whether my SMPS Corsair TX650 is sufficient for my configuration as in my sign. and reproduced below:-

1. HD4870
2. Asus D2x - Require extn power
3. 2 nos. of DVD writers
4. 2 Nos. of SSD
5. 3 nos. of internal HDD
6. 10 USB ports are in use
7. 3 fans (2 of 120mm and one 92mm)
8. UD7 Mobo with i7-930

Can someone bring out power required by each of above components ?

Thanx for prompt replies.
Actually two of my HDDs i.e. one of Seagate (1 year old) and another WD (6 months old) make have recently developed few bad sectors which I dont remember in past. OK, going to calculate my power requirement.

The amount of power available may have nothing to do with the quality of power provided.

While the Corsair TX650 is a good quality power supply for it's price range and seems enough for your computer, issues with HDD/RAM are usually indicative of a problem with the power supply and/or cooling.

Is you computer (processor/gfx) overclocked?

Can you please check the power supply voltages?

What cabinet/case do you have?

Do you have inatke fan/s for the HDD cage?

What models are the Seagate and WD drives?

^Suits the query but doesn't solve our problem. :)

The OP may be having isssues with his psu?

There is no guarantee that a TX650 can't go bad- maybe the voltages are not proper.

Maybe overheating/bad cooling is killing his HDDs?

Maybe they are from batches that have been reported to go bad eventually?

Imho, the OP just assumed his power supply is inadequate while the actual problem may be due to several other reasons.
