Is the Airtel 2Mbps Unlimited (2999) plan available in Hyderabad

As the title says, I want to know whether this plan is available in Hyderabad. The Website is not showing up this plan for any of the regions.

Also, are there any other good (good as in near zero down times, no FUP and promised speeds) alternative ISP's in Hyd for an unlimited 2Mbps plan?

Try Reliance Wireline Broadband. I am using their 1499/- Plan i.e. 1mbps day/2mbps night. They don't have any FUP..I think they have 2mbps unlimited for 2599/-..They are not perfect but no FUP is the advantage...

THe FUP is 25GB and then 256Kbps... can u live with that?
Actually, I am on this very plan (2Mbps for 2999 with 300 free calling value, free Games on Demand and couple of other Value added services) currently in Chandigarh and not affected by FUP at all. I would be shifting to Hyderabad in two more weeks and that's why I am contemplating what would happen if I transfer my connection there. Would the old terms of the connection apply at the new location? Just to add, I upgraded to this plan when it was being offered to a select few before it originally became available to the public at large.

The FUP starts working only after 3 months.. I once used their 2mbps Unlimited for 1299/-.. For 3 months there was no FUP applied..But after 3 months my speeds were reduced to 512KBPS after reaching 20GB.

Good lord! 2mbps for 3k a month? Is that the plan? :O

Thank BSNL (and Supra ofc) for the 3G. Shifted to this from a crappy Youtele 512kbps connection and paid 4200 for 6 months. Been getting close to 3mbps constant.

Get airtel if you have it in your area, they charge you a little more but service is good(yet to test but going by the reviews it is good).. yeah frustrated from beam cable hence canceled, but then if you need internet only for downloads than you can try Bsnl 3g / Beam connection(ie if not affected by weekly downtime of a day or two or may be more if unlucky :p).

Anyone with youbroadband in Madhapur area(I mean service/downtimes wise only)?

@ Lord Nemesis - I was on the same plan in mysore, till November there was absolutely no FUP on this plan but since December they have started FUP it. I contacted the local engineers (since i know them well) and they said earlier the FUP wasnt implemented on these old connections but they have upgraded their systems and now its applicable to all, i believe this is gonna be implemented soon everywhere.

True. I'm not sure about other cities, but in Bombay they are slowly implementing it. My 1099 plan had 100GB FUP initially when I joined back in October 2009. Then come June 2010, they doubled my speed and the REP confirmed it was just a speed upgrade and rest of the plan remains the same, even the FUP. Fast forward to December 2010 and I got FUP'd after crossing 75GB and I blasted the CC, got my speed reverted and was assured this won't happen again.

Switch to 4 days earlier, I got FUP'd again after crossing 52GB. This time, the SOB's said that the 20GB FUP has been enforced and it was stay as per the current plans they have. Well whoop-dee-doo! I'm flummoxed as to how these 'tards actually run their serves. If the plan has a 20GB FUP, then how do I get FUP'd after crossing 50GB? Does someone in their department finally wake up, wipe their drool and brings down my speed?

Pardon the rant, but Lord Nemesis, this is the situation you'll face when joining Airtel. Technically, all their plans are "unlimited", but pay heed to their FUP limits. If they aren't enforced now, they WILL be later on. It's better to set your expectations and then jump onto the Airtel Bandwagon.

I was on Beam cable but they try to con me out of an extra month's bill. Got them disconnected.

Tikona looked like a good idea, called their rep. He comes empty handed, ready with form asking for money and no testing unit. I had to kick him out. How the hell do I pay without testing the connection.

Got Airtel, speed is good. No FUP till now. I dont download torrents rather rely on viewing online. 2 hours of videos every day. Downsides are: 1. Pricey 2. Needs to be plugged in, Many a times had situation wherein an important mail was sent using my GPRS connection

@OP dont u mean 1299 plan? or 2999 without the FUP?

What is your FUP Limit on the plan? I can tolerate a 100GB FUP limit. Anything lower, I would cancel the damn connection. There is absolutely no point.

It's bullshit. Don't go for it else you'll regret. :|

Same here. I was a airtel broadband subscriber since last two years. Recently, they heavily FUP'ed my connection so I disconnected it. Opted for Reliance broadband. :)
