Read about it occasionally, but unable to come to a conclusion.

Is there an issue with GPS in i9003. People have reported better connection with towers enabled.

Can anyone confirm -
(1). How much time it takes in open areas to get a lock
(2). Accuracy of the lock

A decent GPS connection on a 4" mobile screen is very much required, for direction-disabled people like myself :)

No problem with GPS. Locks within 10 to 15 secs. However if you are in a weak mobile signal area then you position may not be accurate.

There are few users who say they have problem but they are not able to tell as to what exact the problem is.?

GPS only works outdoors not indoors, indoors the location are found by a-gps using mobile towers which will never be accurate as doing the same with satellite.

Its also apps dependent different apps will lock in different time. I can lock usuallly within 15-30 sec when outdoors (outdoor means in open ground with no building near you within 50mt)

I can 15-50mt accuracy best I have got is 5mt after a prolonged use.

GPS on smart phone is a battery hog so if you are buying the phone so you can use this feature extensively then ensure that you have a car charger with doc else you will cry.
