Hi all;

Please let me know whether this dell deal is good...??

I am confused a bit...so I need your opinion on this...!!!

Intel Core i7-720QM processor

So Dell finally included Core i7 in laptops, huh?
What's your purpose for buying laptop though?
 
Great deal. Prices of Dell studio with core i-7 processors start at $999 in US. The pricing is so close to US. Go for it :) Your config costs $1169 according to dell US site sans the bag and ear phones. Where did you get this quote? dell dealer/direct from dell?

Surely, you have selected good config according to your requirements. Also I must tell you, Price is very attractive.

But Do add some additional warranty on the laptop.

The reason why I am saying is there were lots of issues related to hardware with this laptop.

I hope Dell must have overcome this issue with new models.

Great deal there, but be sure to check temperatures on Idle and Load as i suspect they would be really high because of i7 and HD4570. High temps in Laptops is the mother of all problems:

RAM overheat n fail

Wireless stops working

G. Card fail

Incase such issues are common with this laptop, then stay away. Else A 3yr warranty may be a safe option.

Oh, the best solution: Laptop Cooler :hap2:

PS: This Laptop's Pros are already known, hence just giving some possible Cons.
 
awsome config there , can u try to squeeze in the LED screen ? ;) (if there is a option to upgrade i.e) I remember a friend telling me that his colleague got a quote for abt 53ish for the same config with no goodies whatsoever, no backpack, no carry bag , no headphones. But he did squeeze in a 3 yr COMPLETE CARE package :O
 
with 45w TDP for the proccy and another ~10-15w for gfx this is a very hot laptop, dell is known for poor cooling design. Good config for price but do you really nead a 4core processor is the question :P

I see only Alienware m15x is with i7-720QM processor

GNS3 is quite a demanding SW....when we add more than 6 routers CPU load increases like anything....that's why 4 cores...and also config with P8700 comes around 52k and this newer one is for just 3.5k more....:)

No man...its with Dell Studio 15 only...:D

Placed the order for 56k with the following Extras:

1, EP630

2, Belkin Bag

3, Wireless Bluetooth mouse

Wow, now that's a total desktop replacement system! Killer pricing. Never knew i7 mobile has made it to laptops already.

@amol - where has he mentioned that he's purchased it already? :P
