hi guys, currently having xp + vistasp1. The thing is , the security center takes some time to load (about 5 mins. or so ).

Will vista sp2 be fast in this regard as well as other aspects ?????

Fast is also a subjective term in case of Windows. It depends upon ur config too. SP2 is a bit peppy but I've seen no major changes in operational speeds as from SP1.

Be warned, SP2 breaks Bluetooth support for some specific devices. The Cyberstar dongle I had was working great on SP1. Now with SP2's new feature named Secure Simple Pairing, I can't/ do not have a option to enter the passcode for pairing with my DellBH200. Vista "automatically" does it and obviously it doesn't work. Even after updated drivers from Widcomm which is supposed to work with the Secure "Simple" Pairing.

I can't understand why MS or most other companies go the automated/ wizard ways? Why not have a option to do things manually too?

Any service spack release by MS is a welcome as it has all the recent security patches as well as the OS is made more usable with every SP release.

Should you install it whether there is a performance improvement or not? YES

If you are using a license copy of Windows and are performing regular updates with other security apps onboard I dont see any major threat to your system.

Always remember that security is at a cost of some performance hit.
