Movies & TV Is YT music better than Spotify?

I recently tried playing a song on YouTube Music, and I was amazed by how well the subsequent recommendations matched my taste—9 out of 10 songs were spot on! This was my first time using YouTube Music, and I was really impressed by its algorithm.

I've been using Spotify for a while, but its recommendation engine is often hit or miss. I also find YouTube Music more convenient because it allows you to download the last 200 recently played songs. On Spotify, I have to manually download each song I like.

What has your experience been like?

(PS: These are Bollywood/Indian movie songs)

I also saw that after a few recommendations, Spotify was no longer trying to push the same kinds of songs on the song radio; instead, it was more of an algorithm for the new hits. Now I usually use Spotify for music streaming.

YT music is very good at song recommendations for Indian regional songs. For example, if I search for a 90's/2000's song, the succeeding tracks are from the same era I used to listen to.

YT Music is worth it for the price of Premium, especially considering the YT video and lyrics integration. Of course, I used a new account when I got Premium, so the recommendation engine by itself is good at linking content based on what other users listening to the same song like, on which YT has lots of data.

Can't believe Spotify still gets away using using Ogg Vorbis.

However, the best part if that I keep my FLAC collection uploaded to YT Music, so if nothing else I always have that with me.

YT music over Spotify and Apple music. A lot of lesser known artists I often listen to are on YT music (maybe sound cloud) and barely appear on other platforms even months after release.

However YT Music app is plain terrible. First, I can't access my offline songs/downloads if I have poor network reception. Second, the order of my playlist is changed while using it on android auto.
