ISP's Blocking Blogspot subdomains

Saw this on slashdot first, but never thought I'd get hit by this.:(

My ISP, Asianet is blocking all blogspot subdomains.:mad: I had a chat with tech support, and he still hasnt given a good reply.But I still can get em via proxies, and my other ISP , BSNL hasn't censored them though.I had no idea india was going the same way as china:ashamed:
 
so this is the reason! i was wondering why i couldnt get into my blog for a couple of days now. damn airtel :mad: im going to talk to customer support and see if they will fix it

tough luck mate...

Tech support center in Chennai says the Departement of Information asked them to block the sites "for security reasons". Confirmed that blogspot and geocities are blocked.

try a proxy, or try Access Blogspot Banned / Blocked Blogs from Pakistan, India, Iran and China at pkblogs.com

Isnt It ironic that this was set up in response to pakistani threat, and we end up using a service pakistanis set up to circumvent THEIR censorship....:huh: mebbe we arent that different after all:ashamed:
 
I think the govt just wanted to block abt 20 blogs...

the ISP's seem to have been a bit overzealous in doing it, and blocked entire blogspot and geocities domains

My BSNL dataone still lets me acess them

either thats the way the govt wanted it:hap2: or beaureaucratic lag:eek:hyeah:
 
well it seems that the gov gave order to block some 70 sites last week.(most are blogs) blogspot is one of them

pretty idiotic move. whats diff between us and china now :S

we now have regulated internet and regulated sting operations also :lol:
 
well BSNL has blocked it since yesterday if I am rt...been suffering with this since yesterday.Well went on to post in chatterbits about it...After posting saw this..:D
 
right now , the workarounds involve proxies like anonymouse.org, or pkblogs.com. we havent had an official reply yet, and all we've heard is govt officials teling us to buzz off.:mad: Man , were becoming more and more like china everday:ashamed:

It seems the govt only wanted a few blogs censored, but blocking a few subdomains is not easy, so the ISP's blocked everything:no:
 
Yep, 2 articles in the Hindu newspaper today too..
Man, i hope India doenst even THINK about become like China.. :(
