Issue with headphones on Dell latitude laptop

I am facing a strange issue with my Dell latitude laptop. If I connect earphones in 3.5mm jack, it works properly. However,vif i unplug the same and replug, I am unable to hear any sound in earphones. In this case, the sound comes out of laptop speaker. This issue persists till I restart the laptop. It is running Win 11. What could be going wrong here? Any suggestions?

Check Your Earphone is default in sound menu

if those two wont work you need to download virtual audio cable(vac)

I hope any one of the fixes works

Is this issue so unique? I tried reinstalling sound card drivers just for the heck of it. But it did not help. Should try a different earphones or try this earphones on a different laptop
