oooh another C+ car? sweet... i paid full price no discounts or even insurance deals coz we were too impatient... but you could wait till nov/dec to perhaps they might offer discounts after they realise altis is really hammering them in sales... :)

you could even check out the new chevy cruze (diesel tho)... people seem to be in love with that too...

20k discount where? did you negotiate on insurance? you can get another 20k or so discount there...

or if you can, wait til nov/dec - higher chances of bigger discounts... (but thats like gambling) if you get 40k discount now take it i say!

test drove the new civic today evening... ground clearance still d same speed breakers still kick it in d nu8s.. also dint like the octagonal lights.... circular ones were better... but liked the cruise control thing and the blue courtesy light...

in da nuts eh? then i gotta be careful since there are a few mean bumps out here...

something tells me you need another test drive... did you not find anything else good/bad about it? engine? gear changes? space inside? ride/handling?

i didnt like the octagonal brake lights too much either, prefer the round ones...

engine..i think civic's i-vtec is good for highways as during city drive... frequent gear changes were required as compared to dad's altis which can initialize even in 2nd gear or even maybe 3rd (haven't tried tho... i think it can)... suspension POV.... altis wins... i found its suspension better... but still we won't buy another corolla... prob'ly cruze or laura.... (dad preferred laura)

Finally got some courage to go a little faster (but still not rash for sure) during this early Sunday morning's drive about the city streets. Was able to go fast-ish (40 to 60 kmph thanks to almost nil traffic) on different turns/bends like V shaped, U shaped, L shaped left/rights and even long stretches which bend/curve to a more or less degree. My conclusion is the car has understeer (at least when slowing mid turn) and the suspension impresses even more - soaks up bumps/vibrations well yet keeps body roll well under control at various speeds.

Can folks confirm or refute that the Civic has understeer as I've felt whilst slowing a little mid turn? Wasn't able to check change in handling (whether it moves to oversteer) by speeding up mid turn though...
