Everybody expected a Mclaren 1-2 but the Ferrari just found its legs in Qualifying.

For a moment I though that maybe they are running lighter cause pole matters on this circuit than any other on the Calendar but a look at Q2 timings confirms that the prancing horse is on par with Mclaren in terms of race strategy.

All this and some rain makes for an interesting Raceday Tomorrow.

Go Mclaren Go !!!!

Its too close to call between the first three. At Monaco, its virtually impossible to overtake. I think it will be won or lost during the pit-stops.

No traction control, possibility of a race, one mc laren behind each ferrari (one on clean side and one on dirty side) and one bmw in the middle of grid. All the signs of a race beginning with a carnage. Can't wait till the race start tommorow.

Well unless one of the Ferrari's crash into the walls (or into each other!) or the team screw up the pit slots really bad, its a Ferrari 1-2 finish :D

ummm, not everybody, certainly not me :P

didn't you hear the start sports commentary/timings that in turkey the mclarens (lewis) were faster in sectors 1 and 2, but the ferraris (kimi) were fastest in sector 3 which was the high-downforce sector and monaco is all about high downforce...

so even tho last year mclarens were strong, this year a ferrari 1-2 in qualifying was distinct possibility... now they're looking good for a 1-2 in tomorrow's race :)

plus ferrari are using the new nose-with-the-hole which apparently gives extra downforce to the front end "for free" the commentators were saying today...

The commentators (specifically Steve) keep saying that Monaco is more about mechanical grip than aerodynamic grip and McLaren have better mechanical grip than Ferrari whereas Ferrari have better aerodynamic grip than McLaren. Still McLaren failed.

What does this mumbo-jumbo mean & how does it really affect the car's performance?

Is Kubica light on fuel 'cause he was struggling in the previous sessions.

Aerodynamic grip as the name suggests works best when there is sufficient air flowing over, through and under the chasis making full use of the wings, inlets and each and every sculpted nuance on the vehicle.
This can only happen when the car is moving really fast which isn't always the case at Monaco.

Thus they try to make the most of the mechanical grip which is all about softer suspensions, higher wheel cambers, lower tyre pressures, etc.

Steve Slater is the biggest idiot the world has ever seen or heard rather :P

the guy is so god damn stupid its unbelieveable....
if a ferrari is for any reason goin a lil slower than a mclaren "OMG HIS CAR IS IN TROUBLE"
and for sum reason this IDIOT always assumes ppl are on 3 stop stratergies...
why u god damnin idiot why.....and when sum1 is actualy on a 3 stopper and overtakes sum1 whos on a 2 stopper after their 2nd pit stops he assumes the 3 stopper dude is on a 2 stopper and has won the race ....BLAH

and the number of on air orgasm's hes had over trivial things my my.... do the exhaust pipes turn him on or sumthing ?

ehehe, ya

like when in a 2-hr long race there is a single overtaking move, then he screams "omg omg, what drama! look! overtaking! who says F1 is boring?!" :)

the commentators on british ITV channel F1 coverage were much better (and more well informed of insider ongoings during the race) when i saw a race or 2 back in 2005 IIRC...
