A baby step, probably can portray how India can work as a better backup for such countries in defense manufacturing, etc.
Nothing to do with our defence requirements . Dassault needs a manufacturing partner . Tata extended family is also from France . Tata is more european than Indian . So Dassault would naturally choose Tata over Adani and Ambani bhai .
Dassault had partnered with Anil Ambani before which resulted in huge hue and cry over corruption and bribery charge by Opp.
Tata's are still seen as a good reliable partners that is why even Tim Cook choose Tata for iphones.

Are they (US, Japan, Taiwan) really want to join to help India or want to know technology of Kaveri Engine and may be some hidden defense equipment projects of India, NEVER TRUST WEST they are not going to give India any technology and also NOT ALLOW any one to offer any LATEST TECHNOLOGY... What will they do steal our technology.
Infact USA had ask Japan to help them modify F-16 and they made it even more deadly.

Nahi chahiya...Trump ke g*** mein dal do. F-35 offer karta hai and can't even deliver F404 engine of 4.5 generation in time..

I no longer question Indian defence technology after 2 day war.
Ofcourse there is still catching up to do in drone and all but atleast missiles and missile /drone defence system Of India is pretty decent for sure.
It's a white elephant for buyers together with compromising their own defense interests, funding pork barrel chronic greedy defense industry of USA.
If India is provided with adequately powerful engines and know how, everyone know we will manage things ourself, reason why things are difficult for us.
Our country also needs to accelerate technical expertise hugely, for eg., how Chinese are employing scientists from Russia and other countries. Rather than bickering on utter useless local topics, hope our leaders find ways to foster scientific temper within the country and import it from outside anyway possible. Only the this so called atmanirbartha is going to work out.
