Jio Gigafiber rollout

So even if i do buy a big-as tv, I'll be using it as a display. No OTT for me. So my primary question is, how well does torrenting work on jio fiber? No seedbox or vpn or anything, just plain old public trackers.

Also how limiting is the lack of bridge mode with their ont?

I'm thinking of trying it out for the free month and if I'm not REALLY happy with it I'll return it and use the fact to pressure my local cable guy to finally give me a connection. He says he still has a major ont shortage, tons of pending new connections.

OTT via JioTV+ app are included in certain plans.

I have hardly done straight torrenting via Jio. Maybe 6-7 times. Worked fine, without issues.
I mostly do magnet to https via a 3rd party site (paid). Most of the content is cached with them, and downloads are faster, utilising full speed.
Bridge mode doesn't work. I have the Orbi RBK50 connected in AP mode, and Jio router's wifi is off. Works fine. No speed issues.
Tried some pings on www.gameserverpings.com, and they are comparable to a friend's ACT. Get NAT B/2 on Switch, so no issues there.

Hathway also offer me 700 GB per month but after payment they keep changing allow DATA limit from 180 GB to 480 GB at their wish.

When I lodge complaint via Email or app/ticket, they took 2 days to reply and in that time they restore DATA to 700Gb & close ticket with reply that issue solved and again after 7-10 days same story repeat.

Then I start sending them Screen Shot and then too, they reply... from our side we can see that data alloted is 700 GB..... (indirectly they never agreed that they keep redcuing data limit automatically)

and this cicrle goes on and on... they never offer full and never accept that they reduced Monthly Allotted DATA
Hathway is rubbish.
I used them for 8-9 months, even paid for 6 months in one go due to initial experience being good, but their CC is ****ed up. Data vanishes, or doesn't get updated. They promise something, and deliver shit speeds.
I was so fed up by 9 months that I got it disconnected even though I had 4 months of use left. Just told them to get their modem/router, give me in writing that stuff has been picked up, and **** off.
The most asinine shithole retarded son of a b**ch company ever. The last 2 months were hell.

Guys m thinking of switching over too.
I am on a airtel 40mbps connection and they can't offer anything more.
Jiofiber is here. Been here for a few months now.
Can someone give me an honest feedback. I am thinking of the PLATINUM plan just for the speeds. Is it truly 1gbps ? Also how is the ping to gaming servers compared to airtel ?
Also how is the downtime ? For me airtel has been great in that regards.
We also have BSNL, but I find bsnl speeds inconsistent....
Thank you for all the help.

Let's hope they don't 'clarify' later on that it's 'truly' 3300gb for a year, not a month :p

Now what am i supposed to do, finally buy a tv ?
I don't think it is 3300 GB per month. There is no clarification on their website either. Jio mostly offers 100-200 GB per month and rest of the data is just introductory or lock down benefit. Can anyone clarify?

Like seedr.cc?

So you disable wifi on the jio ont and connect your router to any of the lan ports on the jio ?

Seedr also seeds. I use Premiumize.me, which is only for downloading. No seeding.

Yeah, I connect it to one of the LAN ports in AP mode.

I also have an Airtel 40 mbps as a backup, but I have only used it for 1 day now for the past 2 years (I was on Jio from the free BB offer). Almost zero downtime. Used 1 gbps for 1 month, and wired speeds used to hit 980-990 Mbps. Wireless depends on your devices.

Posted above that game pings for me are similar to ACT.

If you want something specific, lemme know, and I can check.

Now quarterly/half yearly/annual is available only for Diamond+ plans and above. Those plans have the old FUP for now - 1250 for Diamond+, 5000 for Platinum, Titanium is 10000. Have to see if they stay the same or increase.

Can you post the following 4 screens of your pings That would be a great comparison for everyone
These are mine on Airtel 40mbps Bhopal,

I am using an ASUS Wifi6 PCiE card (AX 3000 2402Mbps+574Mbps ) and standard WiFi modems provided so there is no disparity.

I have ordered the Jio, will post from that too once it comes.
Will try to post form BSNL V Fiber too.
Thank you.

These are from a Netgear A7000, which is a USB based adapter (AC1900). I think USB will add some latency to the pings. My laptop's internal wifi adapter has crapped out.

@alekhkhanna Which ONt is provided by Jio? Nokia, Huawei or their own?

Jio's own. JCO500. The white one they gave during pre-launch time.

Great!
I think they are similar no issues wrt routing I guess!
Have ordered it, lets see how long they will take to install it.
Thanks a lot buddy!!!

did they provide you in writing that they collected/pick uo modem/router all accessories in well condition?

so do they pick-up instantly or after few days/weeks or month?

how do they convince you to take accessories wihotu giving anyting on writing on the spot?
I called up CC multiple times in a span of 2 days to get it picked up.

Didn't get the 2nd part - what accessories ? The only thing Hathway gave was the DOCSIS router/modem combo, and they picked it up. Got an SMS instantly.

Sorry, it was a charge of 0.01 INR which is charged when disconnection happens. I couldn't find any other SMS. Maybe it's their with a diff id/name.

Guess experiences differ by location. Hathway has been extremely good for me in Mumbai with 20% higher speeds/FUP than indicated by the plan and only 3-4 minutes of downtime every month.

On the other hand, I was part of the Jio Fiber preview plan and their connection was plain rubbish with several days of disconnection every month with slow resolution and extreme speed fluctuations. Also, I mostly use VPN but Jio blocked far too many websites. At least I managed to get refund on time after returning the equipment for Jio.

In case of Hathway, I took a connection a second time and they didn't even collect the router and Android TV box that was supplied to me the first time without any deposit. That is the kind of incompetency I like.

Yeah, a lot depends on local team I guess.

Just to get a clarification, you used VPN and yet you could not access your desired websites as Jio had blocked access to those sites? Is it another way of telling that using VPN would be less effective on Jio fibre?
