JioFiber blocked by imgur.com ?

I have recently been unable to access the image hosting site imgur.com. This site is very popular and is used as the default host for linking images to forums like forums.tomshardware.com

The problem is not only that I cannot view images linked to imgur.com. I also cannot open the site to access my own account there. I always get the error message "Imgur is temporarily over capacity. Please try again later."},"success":false,"status":403}"

I contacted imgur support and they said that the most likely reason is that my network is blocked due to abuse.

I use JioFiber and have asked some friends who use it to try to access imgur.com. They all say that they cannot open imgur.com either and get the same error message. So it looks as if the Jio network is blocked by imgur. I'd like to know if the block is for my region only or for the whole JioFiber service in India.

So, if you're using JioFiber as your ISP, please try to open imgur.com and report the result here.

Yes, I've been getting the same error. For now, I turn on Cloudflare WARP when I need to access the site or view embedded images.

They can use ip datasets to figure out the isp/asn of an ip address and then block it if it's from an isp on a blocklist.

Thanks for the quick replies. So the block is countrywide, not just for my region. This means that imgur is blocking half a billion users and potential users.

I cannot access imgur even with a VPN. I'll have to try Cloudflare WARP and see if it works for me.

Yes, a friend in my city reported that he can visit imgur via Airtel too.

Airtel was blocked earlier in Feb but it got fixed. Now JioFiber is blocked.

Seems like they are blocking some VPN services IP addresses too. Cloudflare WARP works because it exposes one of their server IPs to Imgur instead of your public IP just like a VPN. However Imgur would be mad to block Cloudflare server IP ranges lol.

I've been getting the exact same error. My ISP is Jio as well and mobile data returns the same error. From the error, it looks like Imgur is blocking our ISPs and not the other way around. No clue why they're blocking us though...

Whatever the reason, imgur is losing half a billion potential users by blocking Jio.

Jio fiber or jiofiber isn't real internet. It is built with all the annoying features like dpi, firewall block, data limit, etc.. get real provider like any good broadband or airtel fiber

Have you tried clearing cookies and then trying with VPN?
