Honestly half the stuff posted there is BS.
The STB and digicard is yours. I have confirmed this. Though digicard is useless iif you discontinue the service.

Tata sky is not interactive. There is no way for tata to monitor end user watching habits and sell them to someone. There is no upload taking place here.

FTA is not exactly free. You have to pay 70 odd bucks to even cablewala or CAS operators to get these free channels.

Some other points about pointing dish somewhere are hilarious. Thats 90% garbage :P

I guess that orange person is working in Dish TV:bleh: .
You can point out thousands of points if you think negatively.
Even i agree that there are few -ve points in TataSky but still it is the best DTH provider at present.
And Remember:No body is perfect in this world!

Has MTNL IPTV started in Delhi?
After reading above posts, I think I should have opted for MTNL IPTV instead of TataSky (I am in Delhi). Now I am stuck with TataSky.

I am really feeling guilty about pushing my family into TataSky fiasco. TV is mostly watched by my mom; the TataSky navigation is too difficult for her.

In Favorite channels setup, only 20 channels can be accomodated. After flipping through those 20 channels, it automatically moves out of 'Favorite' zone into the original sequence of channels starting from 101 (This is because setting of favorites is just a hack, its just appending of channels at the very end). This is just not good.

Yes, you heard me right, my cable reception of many popular channels is way sharper than what is offered by TataSky. I am rather surprised by the lack of good sharpness in most channels in TataSky. Only 'Star Movies' is exceptionally sharp.

There is improvement in sound (its in stereo, am I right?) but that doesnt goes well with soft picture.

Yes, my cable cost is just Rs 150/- per month. Out of guilt, now I am pushing my family to let cable connection continue for till CAS is forced.

When is IndiaTV and Zoom expected to be included in TataSky? Does anyone has any idea?

Right now, I want to kick my own butt for what I have done.

At the moment its only in Mumbai AFAIK.
Also even though there are 110 channels available. Some key popular channels are missing.
There is NO STAR SPORTS, NEO SPORTS, ESPN, HBO and list will go on.
Those 110 channels they are offering are filled with regional crap.
Thats the reason i choose TATA sky.
At the moment IPTV is in initial stages. Give it 6-8 months and then consider it.

Rshri even mtnl has some problems to sort out.Firstly although they currently give 110 channels, many of the popular ones like HBO,Zee cafe, BBC,etc, etc are still missing. It will take time for these channels to be available.

Also it suffers from random freezing issues and every 5 minutes or so the picture cracks or breaks. So it will take some time before these are rectified and fixed.

But ya in the longer run iptv holds more promise than DTH.Even today it has got features like time shift and its VOD features is much better than what DTH offers.

Not too sure but i belive not.You may need a new set-top box( for HD) and the DTH providers may also have to book more transponders on satellites.Somebody correct me if i am wrong.

@arrow055
u are correct..we need a new reciever which is the HD Reciever to view those HD channels..hi-def channels wont be shown on normal packages..for viewing HD channels u will need an HD reciever as well as u`ll be subscribing hd package which will have hd channels..

When is IndiaTV and Zoom expected to be included in TataSky? Does anyone has any idea?
