Doubtful as he was expendable to begin with.

They usually do that with the big shots, leaders etc that are more valuable alive & free.
 
He is not worth all the hijack thing, he is not leader, just a terrorist. I doubt anyone would bother hijacking a plane to get him, there are enough masterminds in Indian Jails who are worth all the pains of hijack . Remember masterminds never pick weapon themselves, they prepare people like Kasab to do the work for them.They can prepare thousands of such Kasab's in no time..

Remember the latest army report there are atleast 400 terrorists ready to enter india through line of control and regular news of International border intrusions and unprovoked firing from Pakistani side(providing cover).
 
Yep because Kasab is THE weapon, just a tool. Many more Kasabs that centre of terrorism excellence in Muridke.

What surprises me is ppl are hellbent on seeing this guy die soon. Face it, he's never going to get out.We've yet to speak to Headley and we're no closer to getting at the actual masterminds behind this whole affair.

Kasab is more valuable alive right now until these bigger matters get cleared.
 
I support blr_p, its better we keep him alive for long, long enough to use him for our benefit. Every time there is a call to hang him we are simply losing a great opportunity to point fingers at Pakistan. He should be like talking parrot, spoken when asked to speak for OUR benefit. Every time pakistan points a finger towards us for anything, we simply show them one pic/clip and they will shut up.

w.r.t to money being spent on him for his security and trial, let us not forget that the amount is minuscule to the amount of money spent on those nincompoop politicians who are no less terrorists in there own way.

Being a law student let me also add to the topic, what the advocate is doing will certainly boil any sane persons blood but lets not forget this is the way criminal trial takes place(unfortunately) all thanks to our MP's in Parliament who are not ready to reform our Criminal Justice system.

Do I blame kasab and 9 others for the Mumbai incident, yes but the IMO bigger blame lies on netas whom we choose to represent us and them do nothing to protect Mumbai.
 
^^ Totally agree. People are making too much of a big deal about the expenses in keeping Kasab in custody. After all its not as if he is the cause of all of India's financial woes.

Use Kasab as a propaganda tool, hmm. The Paks counter that given he is under duress he will say anything so what value does he have. But what will others think ? Also that we caught one alive when the mission was for none to survive. Any future attacker will have pause over it.

There is some embarassment value there for sure :)

I think he has value because he could help in the course of this investigation inspite of being a very junior person.

I've heard similar cries for reform in many other countries yet the same situation persists.

If you mean arcane laws need to be brought upto date then yes i would agree but I was hoping you have other ideas too :)

What changes should be made and why ?
 
Speedier trial for one..

There should be a time windows within which a trail should finish. This will put the onus on the investigating agencies & the prosecution to be quick. Also wont allow the defense to look for unnecessary extensions on trail dates/duration.
