BTW, where is backwaters located?? Backwater is the name we northies surely know
backwaters = alapuzha mostly, If you want to explore, catch the jan shatabdi to allepey, and spend the day on a boat ( will cost 7~10k upwards for a boat) and back on the return shatabdi in the evening

Another Nice beach
#greenhorn : I see so many places being mentioned here.. Why were we shown only to Kovalam beach, Peppara dam and the only CCD in TVM, when we visited about 2.5 years ago
in kerala once you've seen one beach, you've seen them all
the museum was in the city, and the rest of the stuff would have taken you guys longer
even ponmudi was on the same road we went to peppara on, but it would have been longer, and the roads were worse and steeper, and we didnt want to drive on those roads
get a jeep or a taxi if you're heading that side
Plus peppara dam is one of the lesser known spots, and one of our favourites
Good restaurant to have hardcore kerala food???
black pepper - but its non veg and expect a lot of beef, duck, pork and all that
