As you may know, SOUTH KOREA has fined Microsoft $32m and ordered the software giant to offer alternative versions of Windows.

Well, in this post, a certain "Rotting Dog" puts up a spirited defence for MS - don't get him wrong, tho: he's an "Umbongo Linux through-and-through" !!

This Korea versus Microsoft punch-up has got the blogosphere all a-buzz this morning. Seems the Reds have slapped a $32m fine on Bill Gates for not pulling messaging and Media Player from its OS in breach of local antitrust laws. This seems a bit rich coming as it does from a one-party state where bloggers are skinned alive and their remains used to produce collagen for the US anti-cellulite market. As American Eagle puts it on his Red Dawn Armageddon blog: 'For those of us living in a democracy, whether or not to use Netscape Navigator is a matter of personal freedom. This privilege does not extend to less developed nations, who should be grateful that we are prepared to supply any form of advanced OS, bundled or unbundled.'

Now, the only problem is that the dear boy seems to have his koreas mixed up...

North Korea - "a one-party state where bloggers are skinned alive"

and

South Korea - where "everybody and their grandmother is online"

...resulting in a rare "Kick-the-Dog Flame special" courtesy The Register !!

Enjoy :bleh:
