I'm playing Killzone 2 on my Samsung UA46B7000 and I'm getting rough edges on the in-game surfaces. I'm not sure whether I'm able to explain it properly or not but I'm not getting that smooth picture which I normally get with other games.

I'm posting a digicam picture to explain. Please don't think that I'm exaggerating an almost non-existent issue as this picture is not very clear but will give the idea what I'm trying to say.

Points to note:

1. I'm using a hdmi cable.
2. I have tried increasing/decreasing the Sharpness setting.
3. I have run the game in both 720p (native) and 1080p (although on the box it says only 720p, PAL).
4. In ps3 display settings I have tried changing RGB Full Range (Limited and Full both), Super White (On/Off both).
So I'm looking for help on Display settings for this game on my TV.
What other settings should I try to change?

Any help is much appreciated.

Those look like aliasing which is unavoidable in the game.....or rather with most console games.

Thanks for your reply.

But I didn't get those in Resistance 2 or GTA 4.
Moreover, Killzone 2 is supposed to have better graphics than those 2 games, rather the best after Uncharted 2 on PS3.

Killzone 2 is one of the best looking game on consoles, yes there is a bit of jaggies or rough edges, but yet the game looks fantastic, Resistance 2 doesnt hav rough edges coz its not that heavy on ps3 as killzone 2.
Nothing to worry enjoy the game :)

Just plug in ur ps3 to ur tv with HDMI cable, n display settings to 1080p in ps3 ,n play there is no need for any other settings.

Also no need to change the hdmi cable, as its of no use.

Yes the game does suffer from jaggies and course textures in some areas. Though its one of the best looking games on consoles after Uncharted 2, its still a console game and will pale in comparison to PC graphics if you use that as your yard stick.

Personally I was a bit disappointed by the graphics in this game after all the hype it received. It was in general comparable to two year old PC graphics. The only game that exceeded my expectations of graphics quality from a console is Uncharted 2 and that too I felt the graphics were dated compared to existing PC graphics.

I guess I'm also a touch disappointed.

Alright, copied!!

:)

EDIT

Thanks to you all for replying here. :)

The good news is that after tinkering with the Gamma and Brightness settings and making the picture darker, I seem to have resolved the issue. :ohyeah:

For those of you who have played Killzone 2, you must have adjusted the brightness or gamma at the very start of the game to make that symbol barely visible.

Well, I hadn't bothered for that and paid the price.

As of now the picture seems much better than before and I guess that was how it was meant to be played.

Although it still can't be compared to Crysis maxed out on a PC, but its really good. :)
