^^ No , it has inbuilt worldwide 3G , it only works to buy books from anywhere in the world. You can do very basic browsing as well but don't buy this on the basis of the browser

We can use kindle 3g to browse wikipedia and sites which have text/image only. In case 3g networks are unavailable in the area, EGDE is used.
I am using a 3g kindle and browsing is not so gr8. But it will do the job for a quick search on google/wiki, check out mails and such.
