^^ No , it has inbuilt worldwide 3G , it only works to buy books from anywhere in the world. You can do very basic browsing as well but don't buy this on the basis of the browser :)

We can use kindle 3g to browse wikipedia and sites which have text/image only. In case 3g networks are unavailable in the area, EGDE is used.
I am using a 3g kindle and browsing is not so gr8. But it will do the job for a quick search on google/wiki, check out mails and such.
