hi everyone,
i don't know whether this is the right section for this but there is an experience i want to share with all of the TE members.
i had 2 faulty kingston 800 mhz ram's for RMA. the kingston has two centers for RMA in delhi.
1. nehru place
2. bikhaji cama palace.
i first went to the nehru place center. the guy sitting there examined my ram with a magnifier glass. and refused to take them for RMA.
the reason was he said the first one has corroded (the golden connectors) and so this is a case of physical damage. i said sir its kingston who is coating the golden connectors and if they have corroded then its not my fault. but still he refused to take the rams for RMA.
i went downstairs and rubbed the connectors with an eraser and they again started shining. i again went back to the kingston service center and he again examined it. and then he accepted it for RMA.
now i gave him the second ram. he again examined it and refused to take it. he pointed out the upper right corner of ram and said it is physicaly damaged. and i was shocked to hear that he was saying it is physically damaged. i once fell my ram and for that reason the green coating from that corner was removed only. and physically the ram was in same shape and size.not even the corner was bend just the coating was removed.
and i pointed that there is not any track or any component there in that region. later i had a talk with the engineer over there. and i was thrilled buy what he said
'' he said that this is a six layer PCB and there are components inside it and they have messed up as u have physically damaged ur ram, i said sir if u r an engineer than please tell me that when was this technology invented that u can place the components inside a PCB.''
but he just refused to take it.
i said that plzz send it for RMA and if it is rejected from the main kingston then i will surely take it back and will not say anything but they again refused and started talking in harsh way.
i got irritated and took both of my ram's from there. and now i went to the 'bikhaji cama palce' center for my ram's to rma.
there also a guy was sitting he also examined my rams and was very polite and he just took my ram's for rma without uttering a single word. he just pointed me the corner of second ram and said that he is sending it for RMA but can't be sure of the replacement. i said atleast we can try and i gave it for rma.
after 20 days i got replacement for ram's.
so in the end the conclusion is that if u have any kingston product for RMA then just avoid the nehru place center.
