i recently purchased a new copy of Kaspersky Internet Security 2009. After installing and activating the trial version, i started updating KIS since it was showing the databases to be obsolete...after a couple of minutes when the updates reached 99%...it was stuck there for like 45 minutes with no progress and the update file size kept on increasing....i then decided 2 stop the update...rebooted the machine ....tried to update ....again the same issue....i then downloaded the 8.0.0.454 (i was using the 8.0.0.506 version) version and tried again...same issue for this scenario as well.......then i referred Jai Googleshwar (google...
)...found out from kaspersky forums that there many ppl with the same issue and different solution worked for different ppl....1)some said to disable the proxy server and update...2)some said to revert back to the default settings of the application when it was installed........i then again installed the 8.0.0.506 version after removing the old version....tried solution number 1)....no change...then tried solution number 2)....still no change....then i tried my own solution and implemented both solutions 1) and 2)....that is i reverted back to default settings and also disabled proxy server...and then tried and viola......it worked.....:S
..phew...after a lot of head banging it finally worked....
so now...u guys must b wondering y i posted the issue if i myself solved it in the first place.....well the reason is...i have now customised the settings (that are different from the default settings) a bit. I just wanted to know whether there is anybody else who faced this problem and did they resolve it? if yes....then kindly tell how did u do it...i dont wanna go thru all the hoola hoop again....
