I need a laptop cooling pad as my laptop crashes frequently due to heating up. I search in ebay & found that Belkin was offering cooling pads for about Rs.1000 which is well within my budget. And Cooler Master ones where around Rs.1400.

The Belkin ones have only one fan while Cooler Master ones seems to have 2 fans. Are the single fan ones good ? Should I go ahead with Belkin ?

Btw. my laptop (Dell 15 Studio) is almost 24hrs on with downloading, coding & playing.

Try this, make sure that the laptop is on a flat surface and not on an evenone like a bed, sofa which have a tendency to clog the ventilation ducks in the bottom.

Raise the laptop by a few centimeters (try using bottle caps in the four corners).

Try staying as close to a fan (if not an air-conditioner).

This should help elevate your problem at least by 50%, if not more. If you still need better cooling, you can buy those fancy fans.

1. Use a screwdriver, open your fan and clean the clogged vents of dust. (I thought my lappy fan was dead but it was just choked :P)

2. Buy any cooling pad, in my case I bought a cheap Chinese made laptop cooler with 3 fans for 300 rs.

Results, temp of my lappy came down from 80 - 85 C to 45 - 50 C
