Storage Solutions Laptop DVD writer drive almost gone, what to do

MY Dell Inspiron 1505 DVD writer is not wrking and the laptop is out of warranty.
It someties write CDs but sometimes it just hangs. Even CD/DVD reading is suspect.

I cleaned the lens with Ethanol, but no use, I suspect there is something internally wrong.
Any idea where can I get a replacement, and how much will it cost. I am okay with a non standard generic stuff which can fit into the slot of my latop.

Any seller who specializes in this as most sellers carry DVD writers only for PCs and laptop stuff is rare to find
 
depending on your location contact the local electronics & pc place like lamington rd in mumbai, most of them should be able to get you a replacement.
