The laptop should look good.... major requirement for my sister...
Does that lenovo look good ?? (Havent googled for it yet... will do so now.)
For good looking laptops, the white-bumpered Dell is wayyyy out of the race. The Latitude series are sleeker but they still aren't close to a "beauty". Nikhil, I honestly feel you are looking the wrong brands and the wrong specs. Lenovo is rugged and well-built; hardly good-looking.
The two brands that easily make it to the best looking laptops currently IMHO are:
Sony Vaio
HP DV Series
Am basing this opinion from my extended research over the past 3 weeks for a good-looking powerful laptop for myself.
Am finally buying the Vaio FZ from the US. But anyway, I walked into a eZone shop a few days back and checked out all the laptops there. And lemme tell you,
nothing came close to the Vaio's beauty. Not even the HP with it's glossy imprint finish and all that jazz.
The
Vaio N Series is available for 54k (at eZone) with only 512MB RAM but am sure you can upgrade that to 1GB easily. The rest of the specs are standard stuff - 1.66ghz C2D, Vista Home Premium, 80GB HDD n so on.
If you want looks, buy a Vaio - please. Your sis will love it. Also, if looks are a big criterion in buying a laptop, go ahead n visit a multi-brand store like eZone before buying. The Vaio, the MacBook and the HP were by far the best looking laptops there.
I can't believe noone suggested a Vaio till now.
Payne
PS: I do NOT think you have to sacrifice power for looks - check out the entire Vaio range. Am sure you'll find a model to fit your budget.
EDIT: Check out the
Vaio C-series also. 13.3" screen and available in
black. Super-light laptop. Same price - 54k.
